I'm not sure I really wanted to post this but I was looking at some interesting stats tonight. In the SEC, the numbers for UK are pretty telling. Here's a look at few that stood out to me.
~Shelby in conference is hitting .219. But hes second on the team in RBIS.
~Storm Wilson is hitting a putrid .129 and hes our lead off guy. He does have five walks but all four of his hits in conference play are singles. Zero extra base hits.
~Team batting average is pretty respectable at .276 but opponents are hitting .266 so theres that.
~Our starters ERA is a whopping 7.46 with Brown and Cody at 8.36 and 9.72 respectively.
~Speaking of starters, opponents are hitting a very nice .397 against Beggs, Cody and Brown
~Overall team ERA in conference play is 6.08
Im sorry folks. This is just not cutting it. And honestly, UK has had two very winnable series with Tennessee and Georgia. I'll revisit these numbers in a few weeks. I need a drink.
