Cats held AM to lowest offensive reb % this szn

Man, it didn't seem like we held them to anything on the O-glass.
They got rebounds, 50/50 balls and fouls.

Love to see it.

Also we attacked the O glass tonite. Pope getting them cats right!!
This is a HUGE sign that what Coach Pope and his staff have been working with the team on, is DEFINITELY making them better!!!!

The progress this team is making gives me HOPE for the post-season!!!!

We didn't shoot the ball great tonight and STILL beat a top 15 team by double digits!!!

WOW!!!

Yeah it’s nice to see a staff focus on weaknesses and the team actually respond and improve on that said weakness.

We got us a damn good coach !!

Amari was a huge part of that. I’ve criticized him in some earlier games, but he was boxing out and rebounding with purpose tonight. Love to see it, and hope we can carry that same energy going forward.
I was as pleased with his play tonight as I was disappointed in Brea. That loose ball effort by Brea was as bad as it gets.

If you've seen me post in any thread this season, I'm always harping on this. We give up way too many rebounds due to lack of effort. It cost us the Clemson game. It lets teams hang with us way too long. It's great to make a lot of 3's and find a way to win. It's even easier when you control the boards and limit their opportunities--and give yourself even more opportunities.

I'm ecstatic with tonight's effort. If we can consistently carry this forward, we're a different team. And we're already a top 10 team.

I will also say: After YEARS of seeing the same glaring flaw game after game--it's so nice to see a coaching staff identify and address the problem.

People keep saying our players are what they are and they probably wont improve on defense or rebounding, but I disagree.
It's not likevwe have a bunch of skinny heanpoles, we have some veterans that are physically developed. They most certainly can become a good defensive team and an excellent rebounding team.
If they do that, this team will be on a very short list of contenders.

As much as the defensive rebounding effort and production improved, attacking the offensive glass was the biggest difference I thought I saw tonight.

Maybe it had to do with knowing aTm isn't going to try and push tempo, so Pope wasn't scared to send more guys to the glass. I have no idea, but I loved seeing it.
