Cal's coaching tonight was outstanding

We call Coach Cal out when he screws up or gets outcoached so this thread needs to go 10 pages and Cut Nets needs to get in here too. Cal deserves some praise.
Hell of a job tonight Cal.

He's still in the midst of the grieving process, his favorite team lost last night.

Having Ulis takes so much weight off Cal. He is going to be able to work wrinkles in earlier this year, and more of them.

spot on qwes! I think he is able to focus on so much more knowing that his voice is on the floor on each possession, he is now able to work ahead and pin-point the little things.

Also, I really like how our guys pick each other up and when there are issues, (bad passes, wrong read, etc. how they react is very mature and positive..... and they talk thru things with each other as they walk to dead ball situations, timeouts, etc.....

The bond is there really early with this group!

I know it won't happen but I would do anything to have Ulis stay 4 years. I've never seen a point guard control he floor like he does and knows where and when to take ball at all times. Best floor general I've seen in my 39 years of watching. I'm just loving having 3 guards that can dictate the pace and have the ball on a string. Hope Calipari starts focusing his recruiting like this. I think I'm going to enjoy this year more than any we've had lately.

I think Cal knew. His demeanor in the press conference Monday, his comments about Ulis being fine coming home...I think he knew what was coming.

Duke is just perennially bad at stopping dribble penetration. If you can't stop drivers you're doomed against Kentucky. The gameplan was obvious and our guards implemented it with furious perfection.

No way duke should have lost this one. They started two seniors, a junior, a sophomore, and a freshman. All those returning players from a championship team plus the top recruiting class. K got out coached pretty bad.

Calipari's greatest accomplishment last night was that he did not pull up on the raines. He allowed his guards to attack until the bitter end.

When the Harrison twins came all we heard (mainly from Matt Jones) was how they were killers. I think they had that instinct, but these guards we have this season are truly killers.

The best part of last night was something that im sure not everyone on here noticed, but those who understand basketball and the inner-competitions will have noticed; Ulis going after Thornton. Ulis was able to create a chip on his shoulder and he found it when Thornton entered the game. The great players do this. They create a competition to help them step up there game. You could tell that Ulis wanted Thornton to know "im the best guard out here. You gotta deal with me tonight". It was evident with how he clapped hard and in the direction of Thornton after several plays he made. I absolutely love that.

That's the difference with Ulis and other guards/players. He's always out to show you that he is better and can't be stopped. Its an attitude that has gotten him this far and will carry him even further.

Gotta keep Ulis healthy.

Love love love his competition and poise, as well as the ability to back it up!

It's amazing how quickly Cal has gotten this team to buy in to his system and has them all on the same page. I mean, you can see how much they look for each other on the court and that there is an unselfish attitude on this team almost to a fault. That's all Cal and you have to give him major credit for what he has accomplished, again, with a group of high level players who could just be a bunch of individual egos if they wanted to be. That sort of readiness for the season in addition to a perfect game plan equals major props to Coach Cal. There is no one better than him dealing with high profile talent and getting to have them play totally as a team as well as having them achieve major improvements in their personal games. Just an amazing coach.

Wish he would of told somebody to play Allen to go to his left. The players should of picked that up. But he did a good job.
