Calipari press video here.

I can honestly say after seeing a well spoken and well tanned Cal that he is unequivocally an All American stud.

Cal reiterated that Bradshaw "wants to play." That doesn't deal with the issue. Sharpe "wanted to play" as well.

I can't stand Cal. I could see this becoming another Sharpe situation.
You got to be kidding me. You are negative in everything. you have to be the biggest Eeyore on this board.

Notice how the ball-less, spineless media refused to ask about the Klutch rumors.

It will be and the Cal nut huggers will continue to eat his ridiculous excuses like they’re candy. Can’t wait till that loser is gone

Don't understand why some are coming unhinged from this press conference...
I didn't watch it. I just don't care to listen to him anymore. He needs to prove himself in my opinion.

Prove how? By putting a real competitive title contending team on the floor. Last 3 years have been average to epically bad. Nothing he says really matters. Results matter.

Amen

Don't give a fk what the dude says anymore. Not hanging on every word he says like I used to. Don't care. Just shut up and win. Don't give a single fk about anything else.

That felt disappointing. I don't know what I expected to hear, but it wasn't "I'm not changing anything" and those same old meaningless cliches and words that don't really say anything. I had hoped he would say something to suggest that he was going to go about building rosters a little differently going forward. Instead, he just complained a lot about how 17 & 18 year-olds can't compete with 23 year-olds, and the NCAA should stop letting 23 year olds play. My first thought was then why isn't UK getting those 23 year olds? And I think I then got my answer repeatedly in both the direct and in the round about way he talked. Which was that Calipari is a "players first" coach, and by that he means players projected to be drafted in the NBA. The way he talked about projected draft positions of the incoming players suggested to me that that is what he bases recruiting, playing time and starting positions on. He was tripling down on building rosters with freshmen. I really think it's time for a change.

I didn’t watch it because he says the same crap year in and year out. We’re just stuck with him thanks to our great AD Mitch.

I mean you can't come unhinged if you don't listen to it. Folks that don't want to listen shouldn't and then they don't come unhinged.

I get your point about just win. Right there with ya.

Unhinged.

Why did you ever hang on every word he said?

It’s a typical response for a know it person, especially if they’re getting paid what he is, everyone else is at fault. It’s sad for me as well as many others being a UK basketball fan since birth to see the program in this shape. I will always cheer on our school sports til I die, I really see now at a older age what our Hardcore football fans went through. I HATE being mediocre!

But you know tb1, I think UK as a program is still poised to be at the top. UK is not Indiana... yet. I still believe that NIL and the one-time transfer rule are made for UK. But the program has to take advantage of its advantages. Which, again, was why it was so frustrating to hear Calipari come out and state that "nothing was going to change" with the program. He emphasized that point purposely and repeatedly. I believe there is a lot about the program and how Calipari handles things outside the games that don't need to change, but not winning enough games and not being in real contention - which I believe is a product of poor roster construction - is one of those things that does.
