Calipari In-Home with De'Aaron Fox Today

Awesome, awesome, awesome gesture by Fox. Really hope he chooses UK, which I think he will.

I don't care if there are better players than Fox, I want a young man of that caliber in Kentucky blue. What an incredible gesture on his part.
Absolutely. This kid gets it. It doesn't hurt that he is also an excellent player. Game changer at the PG position.

Ralph -- could Vanderbilt reclass?

I'm not sure and haven't heard that. I'm not an insider. My friend is connected to recruiting and basketball world and he's guy who coached a teammate/friend of Fox prior to him moving to Houston. He just spoke with DeAaron last night and mentioned how Cal was also in Houston to meet with Vanderbilt. Jared is a great kid as well and will be a top priority for UK according to friend.

Again for fans who don't know--I'm not a UK fan--so no reason to make this up and just sharing what I was told and thought you'd be interested. Can say my friend also told me that there is very little chance any non Nike program is going to land anyone who went on that Bahamas trip Nike put together at end of August. Know that isn't any breaking news--but some big names involved on that trip that UK is involved with.

Can you name some of those players? And could you expound more of what your friend said regarding Fox's visit with Cal? Thanks!

Nike has put together a training session in the Bahamas for 12 of its players, and Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum won't be returning to play in the Under Armour Elite 24 Game.

The dates for the trip are August 19-23, which also just happen to coincide with the dates of the Under Armour Elite 24. Most, if not all, of the 12 players going to the Bahamas with Nike were invited to play in the Under Armour event. Giles and Tatum participated last year.

Here is the roster for the inaugural year of the Nike Bahamas trip which will culminate with a game against the Bahamian National Team:

Saw another poster listed the kids on the trip--I'd say UK looks best with Bamba and Vanderbilt on that list of kids in the '17 class--but there will be more next year (John Petty for example) and it's an all out war to land Trevon Duval from shoe company standpoint. He's aligned with UA right now.

As for the visit--I can go ask him if he can share specifics--but really it's more informal then you think. The people involved in industry who aren't handlers or involved with player but are friendly don't take this as serious as fans. It's more like "I heard so and so is going to school X....." or "Insert Name told me he's heard......" so likely going to hear "He had a great time, talked about role..." and that's nothing you can't figure out for youself.

Have been saying for a while - this is the kid I want as much as any in the class. He's like the perfect blend of Wall-Knight-Rondo. Talented, smart, high character. Love this kid.

I'm hearing reports that Tyler Ulis grew to 6'9 overnight, and that he's now considered the #1 prospect, and all NBA scouts fully expect him to break all NBA records ever.
My sources also say that Frank Mason is still Frank Mason, which is a total bummer for you, Kansas dude.

Well, that ends that discussion.

Funny thing is, if Kansas fans would rather have Mason than Ulis, then I actually agree with them, because I'd rather they have Mason too.
