I think it was WELL OVER FIFTEEN THOUSAND. Completely filled up, and standing room only. I am very certain that hundreds to thousands were left out in the corridor and maybe even outside watching the event on the monitors.

I’m so happy with our hire, Pope loves us, he knows us, he is one of us.
Hurley is obviously a top notch coach but he would have been a mercenary here, he’d have been here for the check and his own legacy reasons, sound familiar?
I do think Scott Drew would have eventually fallen in love with us and his family would’ve learned to love this place, but I think everything worked out the way it was supposed to work out.
I’m really happy with Pope and I’m really proud of this fanbase for showing up and packing the house!
Yeah but in all fairness we lost the hof coach in 2015

BTK works by appointment only now; you have to go to him.

Let sleeping dogs lie......I say every fan should take what emotion they have for this program and get behind Pope with it......Cal is a closed chapter..........this is the first time that I have been excited about the basketball team in several years.......GBB!

Easily the largest crowd I’ve seen in Rupp in a very long time. It wa standing room and many more left out for sure. If i had to guess, I’d say there was close to 30,000 there. If I knew how to upload videos, I’d post up mine from the upper deck press box.

Nope, we pulled in immediately. While in line, it was great talking to fellow fans. Many said they haven't watched a game since 2015. The highlight of the time outside was watching 4 guys, kinda bragging But, challenge each other to donate to Club Blue. Each one donated $5000 , and was challenging others. Many of us didn't believe, so they challenged us non believers to donate anything, and before they would show proof on their phone as they hit Send. Un fuccing real. So I sent $150, not sure what others sent.
As far as inside, it was everything you heard Enough electricity to light up Lexington for a .month. And to think, I almost went golfing
