Cal on Willis

Honestly that sounds encouraging based on how bad it looked. Hopefully it only keeps him out a game or two. We really need to get 100% before the home stretch.

I think that ankle was already twisted. So it's probably pretty nasty if it's been re-aggrevated.

Man…the hits just keep coming. Hopefully we can beat Bama without him.

If we can find a way to win the next 2 games, Willis getting some rest is a blessing in disguise.

No Poythress or Willis will hurt us @ Vandy and vs LSU, what is going on with all these injuries? If you look at the stat line it looks like we were the bruisers with all the fouls called, but no, we are the team that got murdered on the glass, losing players to injury because fouls? GTFO SEC refs, they have LITERALLY cost us more then one game this year, and possibly 40-0, remember the shot clock, I know Doug Sirmons does.

Really bad sprains don't keep you out a game or two. They keep you out weeks at a time... Not good for us.
He won't miss "weeks" unless it is a "high sprain". And from the replay, I don't think that is the case.

High ankle sprains are usually multi week. I thought as it happened and how he reacted it could have been something far worse, like a break. We have what 4 or 5 games left? Ideally we would just let him get healthy and return for the SEC tourney, but Willis is one of our most important guys.

It won't cost us against LSU or Vandy if the teams that played MSU and UT show up. Of course, those teams will play their best game of the year (second best probably for LSU).

I hope you're correct but the way he couldn't put any weight on it seemed ominous.
I'm not a doc, but I played it back a few times. His full weight didn't seem to come down. Like you, I am "hoping". Willis the past month has been a gift from Heaven.

The home stretch is now.

A normal human with out a staff of people rehabilitating you 6 weeks.
He'll be back in 2.

I was talking about the SEC and NCAA tournament. Obviously for seeding purposes it would be nice to win out these last few games, but the March run is more important. As wide open as this year seems to be, seeding doesn't seem as important anyway

I didn't know we had that many doctors of medicine on here, with all these reports of sprained ankles and prognosis.
These are probably all the same guys that Are coaches and know what Cal "should" be doing, with the rotation, the defense, proper time out calling, etc.

The positive would be that Issac will get more PT. The more he plays and develops inside will be huge for us because we are so pitiful on the boards. Had IH been in there 30 minutes I doubt that TAMU kills us on the offensive boards like they did and that means we win the game. Oddly he could be the Jorts that makes the difference.

Willis was really banged up even before this game. Hopefully the time off heals this and many other aches and pains that he has. Even before the injury I felt sorry for him running down the floor. You could see it during the game and I was surprised that the announcers didn't do enough research to know that he was really banged up coming into the game. Never mentioned that Willis had any issues during the game. That boy is really hurting right now even without the injury.

I've had multiple ankle sprains and from what I saw Wilis is gonna have an ankle the size of a grapefruit tomorrow. He's going to be really tender for a couple weeks. I've had a sprain as bad as what I saw and I wasn't right for a couple weeks.

At this point, I'd try to get Willis & Poythress healthy enough to play in the SEC tournament and not before. Use the tournament to just get them back to game speed and slowly work them back in. Yeah, probably means we lose a couple games but honestly at full strength, I don't care who we play or what our path is, the boys will be ready.

Would wait for more information concerning Willis ankle before we write him off from playing during the regular season. I remember Sheppard's ankle in 1998 and he was playing a week later. Really depends how high the sprain is. I am remaining positive.
