Will try to post his comments here....As you all know, he can be all over the map in one breath so will do the best I can
--Caller: Complimenting Cal...talks about Willis being out of shape...can we play Bellarmine
Cal: Willis gotten so much better....Dom Hawk played good today So did Skal...wanted to give up but fought thru fatique today...Skal has to push thru it
--AP did not practice today nor will he tomorrow as precaution
Caller: Will you play Skal in the pick and pop?
--Cal: Watch how they play TU on the pick and roll..they go under which stymies the pick with Skal....just focus on defense, blocking shots, and get in shape
--Skal stayed at Cal's house recently and Ellen fixed him breakfast...is an incredibly skilled player
Break
--Cal: Not the easiest place to play....4 mil hoops experts in KY...they know more than me when I'm with them every day....The Julius/JY team was difficult to get them to play hard but made it to Final game.....UCLA beat Gonz at their place....knew we were doomed when Marcus went down against UCLA...DUke we played great.....great ride to be at UK...nothing's easy here
--Jamal's dad told Cal J can be hard-headed...needs to be disciplined....you're either working with us or you're working against us
This is not hyperbole when you're talking about a couple posters on this forum.--Cal: Not the easiest place to play....4 mil hoops experts in KY...they know more than me when I'm with them every day....

Works for me.
There's at least a 50% chance that Skal becomse a monster by year's end and it will be absolutely amazing to watch if it unfolds come March.
No prob ORCAT...glad to do itBlueathletics, thank you so much for your posts. I missed the show and really enjoyed reading through all your comments on what Cal had to say, great job.
Agree. Appreciate the info.Blueathletics, thank you so much for your posts. I missed the show and really enjoyed reading through all your comments on what Cal had to say, great job.
Sound like Cal may not be ready to throw Skal under the bus yet. That's gonna make some fanboi's unhappy.
Agree, give us 9,5 and 2 (ppg, rpg and bpg) game in , game out and we would be a different teamThanks for the posts about the show Blue. It is much appreciated.
My opinion on Skal is this: the team doesn't necessarily need him to be dominant in order to be good. The Cats just need him to provide a low post scoring presence, block some shots, grab some rebounds, and not just get pushed around. I think these are reasonable goals right now. Once he reaches those goals, more may follow. But he needs to get it out of his head that he needs to carry the team or that all this weight is on his shoulders. He just needs to relax and play his game and he'll be fine. As much as anything else, he must play with more aggression. I'm not speaking of fouling, either. I'm speaking of being strong with the ball and not letting people push him around. He can do this.
Caller: If you could pick one person to be for one day, who would that be?
Cal: Cut-Nets. That guy is a message board basketball guru. He truly knows his stuff.
Some of the posters on this site need a call in show
Yep. And I'm sure at the end of the season when Skal is playing out of his mind you'll get a ton of critics say "Cal didn't to do anything to improve Skal, he was already super talented," completely ignoring how raw and timid he was/is in November and December. There's at least a 50% chance that Skal becomes a monster by years' end and it will be absolutely amazing to watch if it unfolds come March.

I actually hadn't seen it before but I just googled it. Add it to the list of articles to repost whenever someone says Cal doesn't develop players. Bobby Hurley Sr. is a high school coaching legend so I think he knows what he's talking about:Yep. Remember Bobby Hurley being amazed at How KAT developed? Anybody with any sense knows how good Cal is. The rest are jealous haters or just plain unhappy people.
