Not saying players won't respond, but all his screaming loses its impact when he's literally doing it every second of the game.

One thing about Willis that has been driving me insane is his unwillingness to dribble the ball. He is going to be a liability in pressure defense situations against better teams because he won't dribble more than twice.
I love it, but he's just walking the dog a bit. Coach O could hardly keep from smiling, hell, laughing, at him sometimes. Smith has carried on with the quiet tradition.

Nah, Cal is who he is. That passion is what makes him great. His players know he loves them and wants the best for them. It's all good. These players have heard enough praise all their lives. They know they're good. They need to be great, though. And he pushes them toward it.

He's responding, doesn't mean he can do what Coach Cal is saying. You have to realize this.
What Coach Cal has to say is to keep reminding him. That's one of basic points in human development. If you ignore a mistake just even once, it promotes that behavior. Coach Cal will keep repeating till Skal learns to do all the things coach cal is asking him to do.
