I'd give you that. Statistically, it's kind of a rub, but I think Edwards best quality is his mid-range shooting where Adou is very good in penetration scenarios. Statistics aside, I think Edwards has better form on his jump shot. If Adou figures that out, he's Kelenna Azubuike

Cal makes changes when we are losing. He's not changing the starting 5 sitting at a #6 ranking, and I don't blame em one bit.

We're not just skating by. We're playing high level basketball. We're a top 5 team in the country, even if the AP is stupid enough to think UT belongs above us.

I really think the kid doesn't have a lot of confidence at this point.

I think he could really benefit himself (and us) by staying for a 2nd season. I'm sure he won't, but man, he could be a beast as a sophomore once he figures it out.

Would love to see it. Like you said, I don’t see it either. Plus, he’s old for his class.

Edwards is a better shooter and scorer IMO. Edwards problem is defense.

Both are debatable.

Edwards does have better form, but I don't think he is a better scorer, Theiro is much stronger and as athletic.

Agree. And I’m good with the spark of Reed and Dilly off the bench. Gives us a pick-me-up at the first TV timeout.

Who finishes the game is 1000 times more important than who starts.

Normally I would side with the 'take a joke' stance. But this kinda thing comes too easily for Cal. I'm not necessarily a 'fiaaaarrr Cal' kinda guy, but he's made enough comments to/about the fans to make believe there is some genuine level of ....something, call it superiority or disdain towards the slack jawed holler bennies. I promise you that Cal likes Little House of the Prairie more than us.

To be fair any coach at that level thinks/knows they are smarter than 95% of the fans. There’s some truth to that thinking, some cockiness that comes from anyone at that high of a level in anything.

Cal is a real asshole. And patronizing. Reed is a winner and Cal is damned lucky to have him on the team. He's earned a starting role, but is enough of a glue guy to not derail the season being selfish. (A trait too common with other players Cal has recruited.)

Do you all think Reed is a bench player anywhere but for Cal? I am doubtful about it, other than a few other squads.

Bench player is used very loosely in your post. I would guess somewhere in the high 90% of players that come off the bench for their teams don’t play 3/4 of the game like Reed does.

I'm going to again be very clear, just because something has a race element to it doesn't mean it's racist. You are both putting words in my mouth and seem to forget that I said there's nothing wrong with what I said was happening. I again point to the recent situation with Tommy Devito being so popular for the Giants because he's a local Italian kid. The city of Baltimore rallying around a local black athlete isn't racist (which is a large reason Lamar Jackson is so popular). The state of Kentucky rallying around Reed because he's a white Kentucky kid isn't racist.

Rallying around someone who shares your background is fine.

Nobody is rallying around Reed because he's white, They're rallying around him because he's damn good and a Kentucky kid and a legacy player. He has exceeded the expectations of just about everybody, even the ones who thought he'd be good. He's a feel good story for the state regardless of his race.
