I am seeing Wilson predictions for UNC for Wilson. If so, who is on our radar for PF next year? Ament? I didn't see him list UK in his top 5 schools. Most of the top 100 HS players have picked their schools.
Looks like the portal is where Pope will go for PF and another center?

Sounds like this guy is a drama queen. That just wants attention. He already knows what school he is going to.
I don't give a damn where he goes. UK will likely be better of with a good transfer anyway.
I don't wanna watch another team with 2 or 3 five star Freshmen starting and getting bullied by 5th year grown men again anyway.
Have we not saw that enough the previous 7 or 8 years?

If it's a money thing, then I'd rather he go to UNC. I can only speak for myself, but I want players who enjoy being here and want the experience that being at Kentucky brings.
It’s a win-win for us imho. We don’t need the PR win. Now we can find the best player at the position from the portal who is ready to lead and win now

There will likely be better options in the portal than most, if not any freshman, as far as first year production
A few mid major names to watch if they hit the portal:

Alvaro Folgueiras - 6' 9" 215 lb Sophomore Forward from Robert Morris. 2024 Stats:

I'd make Reed Bailey say no!

Why would Caleb Wilson want to go to North Carolina when no one knows who their coach will be next season. Odds are it won't be Hubert Davis.

I'll add Yaxel Lendeborg for UAB. Technically a Senior but played JUCO and I don't think those years count against eligibility anymore (may just be a football thing though?)

16.5p 10r 4a 1.5b 1.5s / 33.3 3P% on 2 attempts for a solid mid major team

Nobody will ever get rich predicting this stuff. I have never heard anything that would make him going to UNCheat make sense. And yet, it very well may happen. Remember when Bamba was such great friends with Quade Green and everyone was saying it was a lock?

Highly prestigious blue blood. They didn’t hit on anyone else so plenty of NIL to devote to him. Iso-heavy freelance system where he can expect to replace Ian Jackson.

To be clear, I think it’s a foolish decision but I’d bet those are the reasons

We'll land a very good transfer pf, no worries from me. Don't be too hard on CW, we all made illogical decisions at 18. Davis had a lot longer to cultivate that relationship. We can all see that our style and offense fits him much better, but the kid can't. Young and dumb, it's okay.

Saw them lose to North Texas on ESPNU a few weeks ago and did not know he might get a JUCO year back. Looked good in that game!

Those are some pretty good numbers but, one thing, how do you shoot 33% on 2 attempts?

Haven’t dug into the names yet but Reed Bailey makes sense from a profile/statistical standpoint!

I agree, think its $

Being reported that the nil deals were similar. Apparently Hubert Davis sold the family on Wilson being their “Cooper Flagg” next year and the family bought it . Kid is athletic but he is NOT that guy . His offense is a work in progress and being a 26% three point shooter means teams will be sagging off him .

Bingo. I’ve watched quite a bit of the highlights and tape on the kid and I didn’t come away very impressed. I know a lot of people will say this is “cope” and all that but anyone can check my history on this. I’ve been consistent that I’d rather have someone from the portal. Wilson is good but he’s raw

He would be my first choice but I’ve heard he is dead set on entering the draft.

With the style of offense Pope runs, I keep expecting a Euro PF name to pop up and be a huge addition... I have no sources, but the game aligns very well with that skillset.
It seems that you need to have a guy on staff with connections to the Euro league. Chuck Martin is the only reason we got Big Z and he is at Arkansas. I wonder if we anyone on staff with those connections.

EDIT: I’ve been told we do have someone with Euro connections on staff.

I'd make Reed Bailey say no!

I was looking at these at the same time as you it looks like.
I found the pickens slim. I have only looked at guys scoring 12+ ppg.
I was using the following criteria: listed as a F or C; a JR or younger (so not assuming 5yrs is allowed); and makes > 33% of 3's

Bailey though, while I'd still consider, is NOT as appealing as you think. That 50% from 3, he is just 8-16 so has attempted only 1 more than Garrison. For his career, including that 8-16, he has made only 30% of his 3's.

Guys I found so far:
Reed Bailey, 6'10-230, Davidson, 19.4, 6.7r, 3.7a, 8-16 3pt but 30% career
Brandon Noel, 6'8-240, Wright St, 18.4, 7.5r, 35% 3pt but 37% career
Kaleb Banks, 6'8-210, Tulane, 17.9, 7.5, 36% 3pt, 2.1 stocks (1st 2 yrs on Indiana bench)
Michael Rataj, 6'9-220, Oregon St, 17.3, 8.3r, 2.5a, 37% 3pt, 2.8 stocks
Rasheer Fleming, 6'9-240, St. Joe's, 16.1, 9.3r, 41% 3pt, 3.1 stocks
Bobby Durkin (Soph), 6'7-220, Davidson, 15.9, 5.8r, 2.2a, 45% 3pt, 1.4 stl
Marcus Adams (Soph), 6'8-195, Cal St Northridge, 15.7, 4.7, 41% 3pt
Darrion Williams, 6'6-225, Texas Tech, 15.6, 5.6r, 4.7a, 36% 3pt but 39% career, 1.7 stocks
Nick Davidson, 6'10-238 (looks slow), Nevada, 15.6, 7.0r, 3.2a, 40% 3pt
Will Sydnor (Fr), 6'8-210, Manhattan, 15, 6.6r, 39% 3pt, 2.1 stocks
Tyler Bilodeau, 6'9-230, UCLA, 14.6, 5.0r, 39% 3pt
Cameron Huefner, 6'8-230, Sam Houston, 14.3, 4.9r, 37% 3pt
Jonathan Pierre, 6'9-210, Belmont, 13.8, 6.8r, 3.9a, 38% 3pt
Lejuan Watts (Soph), 6'6-233, Wash St, 13.8, 7.9r, 4.0a, 35% 3pt (40% last yr),
Austin Rapp (Fr), 6'10-230, Portland, 13.7, 6.4r, 2.4a, 36% 3pt but only 40% overall
Barry Evans, 6'8-215, Bryant, 13.5, 7.3r, 2.6a, 37% 3pt
Dane Erikstrup, 6'11-226, Wash St, 12.7, 4.6r, 40% 3pt
Tobi Lawal, 6'8-215, Va Tech, 12.4, 6.5r, 47% 3pt
Elijah Saunders, 6'8-225, UVA, 12.1, 5.4r, 38% 3pt

There are a lot more guards scoring 16+ than forwards.
But this research has made me realize, the PORTAL may be more dry (less available good players) this summer due to the end of the extra-covid year.
