BWHA!!! Bragg Accidentally Said Kentucky (then Kansas)

All you need to know about this "decision".....

"Playing for Ohio Basketball Club on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit last spring and summer, Bragg averaged 17.0 points and 9.3 rebounds over the course of 22 games. He also put up 13.3 points and 4.3 rebounds at the Adidas Nations event during the summer."

and from his coach....

"Coach [Bill] Self has a great track record," VASJ coach Babe Kwasniak said following Bragg's announcement. "The University of Kansas might be the most electric place to play basketball, not only in college, but maybe in America."

HAHHAHHHAHHa......please stop...hahhahaha.....it's too much...hhahaha....I'm going to die LOL!!!!

I keep assuming you've already said the most asinine thing you're ever going to say and then you keep one-upping it.
Kimo, I can take SC's posts but if you never posted again on this site it wouldn't break my heart. jmo

re: Bragg's slip

some may be correct in feeling he really wanted to go to UK...and no one may really know, but do you think it is a coincidence that Alexander did something similar last year? Did Jerrance Howard recruit Bragg too? hmmmm...

Self put #1 overall Wiggins and #3 Embiid in lottery, so he could have managed them far worse.

If we didn't already have Skal committed and possibly a few guys staying, Bragg would have chosen UK imo. Im happy with Skal. I think he is gonna be a top 5 pick.

Please.

Self had the most sure fire number one pick since Lebron james and people were were even questioning that at the end. 2 weeks before the draft no one was sure who was going number one. For a kid as good as wiggins is, there should have been 0 to question.

His management of OAD Talent at KU has been average to put it at its BEST.

Some idiot kansas fan who comes here during times like this doesn't phase me at all. Keep pumping sunshine Up your own ass for all I care kimo,'kansas is still what we call little step brother. You'll never be UK And kansas more than any other school tries so desperately to be.

And btw, bragg to KU was about 2 main things.

1. Kentucky and our position with guys like Zimmerman and signed recruits like Skal and our returnees
2. Adidas. If it weren't for those things, Bragg would absolutely be at UK, and I think it pisses Kansas fans off that in reality they know that.

Now run off back to the shake and shiver where EVERYDAY IS CHRISTMAS FOR UKU!!!!

Adidas is the only thing that can stop Calipari at this point.

It's laughable that Kansas has to depend upon them for help. Without Adidas - no Wiggins, no Bragg, and certainly no chance at Brown.

UKU

Where Helms banners are claimed and Ncaa championships are far and few between.

I'll be honest with stating that I would have love to landed him. But, so goes the situation in the game of recruiting battles-- you can't win them all. Best of luck to him and a great pick up for Kansas.

I'm just glad that since Cal has arrived we are back in the mix with all the top blue chippers. We have always been a blue blood by definition. But, since the 2000 millennium started (and before Cal's arrival) we had fallen from the graces of being a serious contender with the likes Kansas, UNC, and Duke. Now, we are back and are considered a legitimate option for all the top talent.

That was amazing.

Kansas fans can hate it all the want, but this is the truth. He wanted to play here, and he would have played here if Cal didn't have 4 other options he just prefers. Bragg didn't want to wait as long as UK wanted him to, so he's going to another good school. Kansas is getting a great player, and I bet he's really good while he's there, but let's not make any mistake about what this situation is. He wants to be here, and he's going to be there.
No. He wanted to play here, but Adidas won out. It had nothing to do with who is here or who isn't.
Sorry but it had to do with the fact he wasn't a first choice recruit just like Blakeney. Really doubt Addias had much to do with anything . He wasn't going to get an unconditional offer like Zimmerman or Newman , Skal ect.
Sorry, but you're wrong. He had a legitimate offer. Cal watched and visited many times. Adidas played a big role in his decision.

How do you know?

As long as Self doesn't screw him up, which is very possible considering his track record, Bragg will certainly be OAD. He has talent of a top 5-7 player regardless of where he's ranked by some. I've seen him and a few other 5 star bigs from the 15' class and he was at the top of the list along with Skal.

^^^ wrong. Hes average. Akways has been. Id say that if he signed with us. Hes just like Perry Ellis. Skal is twice the player and its not close.

Self's track record with 5 star recruits since 2005-06 (first OAD year). I'm counting recruits that were given a 5 star rating by at least one recruiting service.

Mario Chalmers- three years, 2nd round
Micah Downs- transferred to Gonzaga, undrafted
Brandon Rush- three years, lottery
Julian Wright- two years, lottery
Darrell Arthur- two years, first round
Sherron Collins- four years, undrafted
Xavier Henry- OAD, lottery
Thomas Robinson- three years, top 5
Elijah Johnson- four years, undrafted
Josh Selby- OAD, 2nd round
Perry Ellis- junior, TBD (probable 2nd round)
Andrew Wiggins- OAD, 1st pick
Joel Embiid- OAD, top 5
Wayne Selden- sophomore, TBD )probable first round)
Cliff Alexander- freshman, TBD (probable lottery)
Kelly Oubre- freshman, TBD (probable lottery)

So that's 16 prospects. Removing the four still in school the results look like this:

12 players
1 number one pick
3 top 5
7 1st round2 2nd round
3 undrafted

Before Wiggins, only one of Self's Kansas players in the NBA were averaging over 10 points/game for a career - Markief Morris.

That's pretty astounding for a coach who has been at Kansas for over a decade. Even Tubby, who has not coached at Kentucky since 2007, still has guys he recruited to UK like Meeks, Rondo, and Prince with career averages of double figure scoring or higher (technically, Meeks is at 9.8ppg for his career, but that would put him above every current NBA Self-recruited Jayhawk save Morris and Wiggins).

Really? Where are Oubre and Alexander projected to be drafted next year?

Asked how long he envisions Bragg playing college basketball, Graves responded, "probably two years. I think he'll need one year to get acclimated. With the training they give him, hopefully he'll be able to go in two years."

"I don't really care for minutes, I just want to be part of the team,"
Bragg told ESPN.com after his Kansas visit. "Freshmen aren't supposed to
be playing all the time. It doesn't matter to me. I'll be a hustler,
rebounder, shooter, passer. I can fit in real good."
[/I]
Pre-emptive argument for when you guys say he was a sure-fire one and done if he didn't go to Kansas.
