I fully expected Brock to promptly enter the portal and transfer. Unless I missed it, we have heard nothing. Is there any news? Are we still expecting him to transfer?

Has this been officially announced by Brock Vandagriff himself or UK?
It hasn’t. The skepticism is healthy given all the crazy rumors that get started sometimes. In this case, it seems like there could be something to it though. The combination of us openly shopping for a starting QB in the portal combined with Brock not transferring out is extremely unlikely if there isn’t something going on with him.

Brock contacted ...bleed blue network or whatever they call themselves on twitter and asked them to let everyone know he was retiring from football.

Well Brock can change his mind obviously but there is no way Bleed Blue Network is going to make that up because people losing trust in a new media group is its deathknell.

I have never ever heard of Bleed Blue Network, and I'm pretty sure that I will never GAF about them.

But even if they did lose credibility, then I'm sure they could just easily pop up again under a different name just as easily as they popped up as Bleed Blue Network.

Not to say it isn't true but why would he contact only that outlet? Im curious why it hasn't been widely reported because thats pretty significant.

Well its obvious it happened because if they were wrong, thats something an agent makes sure word gets out its wrong ... and today its officially official. just remember there are 2 ways people can get scoop first, they pay for the exclusivity or to get it first or they try to get in friendly with the people and get a hey, im your buddy can you give me some scoop.

Was posted on UGA board today too. Brock never looked like he was enjoying himself, I thought maybe just his look. But I believe he had his undergrad degree before he transferred, maybe he got a grad degree at UK and finds something he enjoys.

They were definitely way in front so kudos to them. Just bizarre such a profound development was kept so quiet all this time when apparently the decision was made some time ago.

It turns out Brock played most of the year with a nagging shoulder injury. I think he put it out there as best as he could. Gutty effort if not up to needs.
Best of luck and life to him going forward. I truly wish him the best.
I totally respect his decision. Do we know if he had the shoulder problem PRIOR to transferring to UK? I mean, that would be good information to know, would it not? What this tells me is we never really saw a healthy Brock play for UK for any extended length of time. He certainly had his shortcomings but, perhaps, if he'd stayed healthy many of those could have been overcome. I guess we'll never know. I'm sure having our pathetic excuse of an OL (and the prospect of worse one this year) made his decision somewhat easier.

JDrum reporting that Boley is the only scholarship QB returning. Did Wimsatt retire too? or transfer again?

As far as BV retiring…I bet he got a pretty decent NIL package. He can probably take that and move on to something he wants to do. And if his love for the game is gone I can totally understand. It’s a hard game to play if your heart isn’t totally into it.

My daughter could have played college basketball at a low division. But she felt after 13 years of year round basketball that she was ready to move on. She attends a D2 school and decided to that she wanted to play tennis. She had to work harder than she ever had to get to a level that she could compete. But she gradually worked her way into the playing line up her last few years. But it was only because she had the desire and willingness to put in the work. If BV no longer had that desire for FB then it’s understandable.

Brock had a partial tear of an ACL when he arrived at UGA, but him and his family decided it didn't need to be repaired, and wasn't as far as i know, so when he arrived at UK he came with a partially torn ACL. No idea if that played into his retirement. I personally think he just quit enjoying playing football somewhere alone the way. He never looked happy at UGA or at UK, imo. If it got him a couple of degrees good for him.

Yeah some guys just don’t love the game, they play for the possibility money or because they happen to be great at it and nothing more. Kinda like Zion Williamson. I think he was always so gifted he never worked hard or really loved basketball. It was just an easy way for him to get rich.

True. My daughter spent all of her middle and high school years playing soccer and basketball together and played at a pretty high level. Signed with UK to play soccer but just before starting her freshman year decided she was just wanted to experience life outside that grind which I blessed wholeheartedly. With school and travel clubs (especially the club ball) it can really burn them out. Her good friend did the same thing.

His dad being who he was and Brock being a good athlete I think it was just expected he would play. As forcas I know a really good kid.
