Not reading that. Paragraphs are your friend.I have just received word that Barnhart has been closely monitoring this thread, looking for a little help in making administrative decisions. Even though everyone on this thread hates him irrationally, he saw the merits of this very inspiring thread, which is clearly populated by very rational and loyal fans, and decided that he was personally going to start stripping in order to collect enough money to pay out an astronomical buy out to fire the most successful football coach the school has seen in half a century in order to placate the wonderful fans who clearly see that Kentucky has no excuse not to be above Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn etc in the pecking order on a regular basis (aside from resources, fan support, history and brand power). Despite being the only coach who has brought the school to eight consecutive bowl games, we know Stoops is definitely inferior to Sumrall, so Barny will be hiring him and offering him up to this happy mob of pitchfork waving misfits to be the town sacrifice. We will burn him at the stake immediately after he doesn’t make a bowl game one time, since the college football playoff is the floor for our program, based on fan emotion, which is the most important factor in projecting success. Thank you, Barnhart…whoops forgot, the correct thing is to say “Fire Mitch”, amirite. Bump for our merry little echo chamber!!! 🤡
Not sure reading would have helped anyway. Carry on.Not reading that. Paragraphs are your friend.

Stoops won’t open the third damn one is our problem.Reminds me of the three envelopes joke: https://kevinkruse.com/the-ceo-and-the-three-envelopes/
If you continue to accept mediocrity, then you'll continue to wallow in mediocrity. The University and we the Fanbase have to demand better.....do you think Indiana has a glorious football history?? No, but the sure as hades made the CFP.....whether they truly deserved to be in it (I don't think they did), doesn't matter as they did make it. And the truly sad thing is they would've kicked our ass in a game with our $9 million coach standing on the sidelines with his deer in the headlights stare. If your program prestige is a toilet, you don’t attract something other than a turd. Stoops is our best turd in the last fifty years. Again, I’m a Stoops guy but I understand the anger from the fanbase
Indiana was a lightning in a bottle situation. As for us, mediocrity is better than we have been within the last half century. I recognize most people on this thread are going to be so bloodthirsty in their desire to move on that there isn’t a hope of convincing otherwise, but I at least hope that one or more of my posts might convince someone on the fence to reconsider our assault on the coaching staff. I understand wanting to be one of the best teams —- I want that too, but we are not Indiana —- we happen to exist within the most brutal conference that is only getting stronger. Stoops has been the correct guy to have us become mediocre and I don’t want to lose the mediocrity. If you continue to accept mediocrity, then you'll continue to wallow in mediocrity. As long as we as fans don't demand better, then we won't get better. If a 1980s playing style dinosaur like Stoops can get us to a couple of 9-10 win seasons, then you have to believe a better HC that's willing to go with an offensive style of football that can consistently win games and with the talent we've had the past couple of years, could realistically get us to 10-11 regular season wins here and there and consistently win 8-10 games per season.
The foundation is there, I'll give Stoops credit for that, but he's reached his ceiling and he is truly undisciplined and his teams mimicking their HC. They've been some of the most undisciplined teams I've ever seen and that falls on the HC. I can promise you if UK hired a top 15 HC, they could exceed what Stoops has done. Winning is contagious and an exciting, winning style of play will attract better players, also that kind of winning energizes the fanbase who might just contribute more to NIL cooperatives in order to get and keep better Frontline players. The truth of the matter is that the UK athletic administration and president are more than satisfied with 6 wins and the toilet bowl, they are very ok with mediocrity, any other school in the SEC aside from Vandy after the dismal past three seasons would've fired Stoops after this past season, especially when if they are paying Top 10 salary to the HC, you darn better expect more when paying a HC championship level pay for mediocrity and even worse. Excitement and expectations for this program are very low, Stoops lost the team and he's lost much of the fanbase. I talk to very few UK fans anymore that want Stoops here and are excited about where the program is. Vandy has a better coach than we do as do USCe and Mizzou. It's truly sad.....the linger Stoops stays, the further down the program slides. He's almost at Joker status as far as fan apathy goes.
Agreed, get serious about football. Don’t let the winningest coach you’ve had in 50 years leave when interest comes up to bigger schools…pay them to keep them around….oh nvm wait we did that and you all are still crying about itUK needs to start getting serious about football. And don't give me the same tired horseshit about improvements to Commonwealth Stadium (yeah, I still call it that), the practice facility and training rooms. Those are BASIC necessities in P5 college football in 2024-25. I'm talking about a real financial commitment to recruiting, coaching, etc.
Change is coming to college football and UK could be left out unless we start to compete. Look at what Ole Miss has committed to their program. They just spent $10 million on NIL. Was it worth it? Depends on your perspective. But, they are positioning themselves to be relevant going forward. UK is not.
IMO, UK needs a minimum investment of $8 million per year NIL for at least the next 3 years just to regularly compete with Ole Miss, Tennessee, USCjr, etc. That will never happen as long as Barnhart is the AD. To hell with lacrosse, field hockey and swimming. The future is in going all in on football. UK needs a five year plan that completely changes the culture of its money sports. Obviously part of this is to either buy out or force out Stoops and his ENTIRE staff. Either be bold and aggressive or be ready for yearly 4-8 seasons and irrelevancy.
Hi Mitch. Go ahead and blame the administration's incompetence on the fans, sure. No fan or objective person in their right mind approved of all the money in such a lopsided contract. That is all on the AD. Also, those 10 wins were 4 years ago and have been VACATED. In retrospect a really dumb move... the reason why you don't hawg tie yourself with such contracts. You never know what can happen. You are the worst of the worst type of fan that thinks mediocrity is the only path and success is impossible. Fans demanding a winner is the only thing that can change a program that really doesn't care about fb to this day.Agreed, get serious about football. I’m on the same side as you, dude. I want the best for Kentucky football. Some of you are willing to tear down the nicest home you have had because your neighbor has a poolside mansion —- only problem is you’re a social studies teacher and your neighbor is a world renown brain surgeon.Hi Mitch. To your point, “Senior Day” will be against Tennessee Tech. If the season goes the way most of us believe it will, we’ll be gunning for win # 3 or #4. Accordingly, I bet attendance will be very low, Senior Day or not,The ONLY thing that would cause Stoops to be dismissed is if attendance plummets to ridiculous levels . I don’t see that happening yet . If Toledo does upset us in the first game ( they are good and may )and Ole Miss beats us as expected I c the season and Stoops future going downhill real quick.
One problem is it’s only entertainment and the Stoops offenses are not entertaining. Add to that 8 out of ten times when you play an SEC opponent at home you will go home pissed off .
I used to take clients to entertain them but stopped a few years ago when I realized that more often than not the day was a negative experience. Better to take them to concerts , plays, nice restaurant etc where you know everyone will have a good time. Simple business decision .
At least you admit that you are ok with mediocrity.Indiana was a lightning in a bottle situation. As for us, mediocrity is better than we have been within the last half century. Yes and I see nothing wrong with that. For me, the question is do I love being a UK football fan? Yes. I loved it when we were not very good but I was in my backyard hitting imaginary holes as Artose Pinner and running a kickoff back for a TD in my backyard as Abney. We don’t have to win a national title for me to be a proud fan. Every fan wants more but, you have to see, if you’re being rational, that we aren’t likely to EVER sniff of being a top program on a regular basis. At least you admit that you are ok with mediocrity.
I for one think UK has the resources in place to be on par with Ole Mis and Mizo and that 9 mil should get you a much better coach than Stoops.Yes and I see nothing wrong with that. I agree with you on those two schools but let’s see where those two schools are in about five years. SEC is brutal and even those schools may not look the same once the new wears off. Kiffin will end up going somewhere else at some point because Ole Miss might be in a worse situation that even us long term. Right now, he has universal fan support but once he gets beat down a couple times in this new brutal SEC, Rebel fans will forget what they are historically and start blaming the coach. I follow Locked on Rebels because I watch a lot of SEC stuff. Those fans have already almost turned on him a few times. He will find his way to one of those schools with staying power. As for Eli Drinkwitz (correct spelling? Lol), he’s amazing but he will struggle to get Missouri over the hump on a regular basis. Will Missouri fans be ok with being say the ninth best SEC team on a regular basis? We would look from the outside and say, “Well, they sure ought to be.” Perhaps their fans won’t be. With NIL, some of those dormant schools will return to prominence eventually such as Florida. So it only gets much harderI for one think UK has the resources in place to be on par with Ole Mis and Mizo and that 9 mil should get you a much better coach than Stoops.
Does no good. When Stoops leaves, keep that same energy for the next coach. I’m sure you will anyway. MalcontentsWhat good does it do to keep this guy another year? Going to have to mortgage half the state to get his ass out of here in the next 3 or 4 years anyway.... might as well tear off the band aid. I'd rather hire some young no name with experience in a winning program or pros and pay them less than 2 million a year vs keeping this bloated SOT around for 3 more years. At least it brings new energy and they learn on the job. The buyout is equivalent to a death penalty for this program! I know some high school coaches that would bring better coaching and intensity.
Any "fan" that loves his program to fail and wants us all to bend over and take it... all the while loving the taste of the shit sandwich being fed to us is no true fan. They are simply a part of the problem and probably a paid troll to promote this horse shit mentality by the powers that be. You sir are entitled to your opinion even if it sucks... that being said... Going on ignore!Does no good. When Stoops leaves, keep that same energy for the next coach. I’m sure you will anyway. Malcontents
I’m certainly not a troll, I’ve been a fan my entire life and I don’t see it as loving my program to fail. I want to win as well…I look at things like this from a more nuanced approach that considers the history and unique circumstances of the program when I think about direction and evaluation. If you feel the need to put a fellow fan on ignore for defending the coach using facts and rationale, do what you must. You’ll never convince me that supporting the coach is “troll” behavior. You weren’t with me storming the field against an Unranked Georgia team lolAny "fan" that loves his program to fail and wants us all to bend over and take it... all the while loving the taste of the shit sandwich being fed to us is no true fan.
