57 players that played for UK were High School State players of the year, ie Mr. Kentucky, Mr. Indiana etc. Build a starting 5 man team form these Mr. basketballs as listed on JP's site.

I'd take:
G- Tony Delk
G- Tayshaun Prince
F- Kenny Walker
F- Jamal mashburn
C- Karl Anthony Towns

So tough leaving off a few of those 78 players, Macy, Robey, Givens

I'd take:
G- Tayshaun Prince

Wait a minute .....so you're claiming Prince as a guard? I believe that's called cheating at your own game. Then can I claim Macy as a forward?

This list is incomplete without Mike Casey, Jack Givens, Rick Robey, Kevin Grevey, Kyle Macy, or Jamal Masburn. Throw in Mike Phillips, Dirk Minnifield, and Michael Kidd Gilchrist for good measure.

good to see you back, AG :)

I don't think Illinois had a Mr. Basketball when Issel played in the 70's
but any kind of best team ever from UK has to start with the leading
scorer and rebounder in the history of the school with Big Dan.

According to my book entitled, 'The Rupp Years, Issel actually signed with Wisconsin but somehow got out of it.
