Who do you take if you only can have one? I take Brown but I think it's only because of the hype. I like Key better he seems smoother or something.

Well luckily we don’t have to make that choice. They play different WR positions and both have the skill set for their position. We are very lucky to have 2 young WR that got that year of experience and could still be here for 2 more seasons.

Makes us very attractive for a QB transfer for next year to go along with Dingle and Kattus.

See I didn't realize the play different positions. I'm a dumbass 😂😂

Key has that -it- factor but its a tough call as Brown should have had 5 to 6 TDs off of punts and kickoffs if it werent for some pointless penalties or getting tripped by teammates.

We have our QB of the future..... Cutter Boley right?
Yeah he will get every shot to be the guy but could be asking a little too much for him to take over as a true Fr next year especially given his physical stature right now. Our success with Levis and hopefully Leary too could get us in a good spot to get a transfer for 1 year looking make an NFL impression.

Brown for me but that’s based on the very small sample size of only last year. More of an open field playmaker than Key, and I think those factors showed up in special teams and yards after catch most of all.

To critique both, I think both had high drop rates last year and they have to clean that up if the offense is going to hum.

I think if Leary works out we may be QB transfer U. Liam a QB whisperer especially with what happened to Levis under a different NFL guy from the same tree. Leary has been the top QB in the ACC. I think he can be better then Levis. I'll have to wait and see. Itead we were 3rd in overall defense behind Bama and Georgia. Liam can put together a top offense with the tools he has. I think we are due a season of the ages. Key and Brown have some competition in the WR room. Our running back room is full too. TE are solid and Big Dawg is working with them. They are adapting at TE. That position is evolving. Won't be long before a guy built like LeBron comes along. Like Gronk unstoppable

I don't think the staff plans to use the portal ahead of time to fill any need. The portal is used to fill deficiencies which can sometimes be unanticipated - i.e. O-line. With QBs let's face it, prior to Coen QB recruiting was a very heavy lift - we're still playing catch up to that so next year they may have to go back to the portal again for a QB.

My thinking is the competion will be concentrating on Brown & Key will open up opportunities for Robinson, Crowdus, Porter and Brown. Now throw in the TE's and great recieving RB's, this could be a extremely fun year. Can't wait for some F O O T B A L L!!!!!!

Both players, especially Brown, need to gain strength to fight thru being jammed at the LOS. Brown also needs to develop strength in his hands.
Key draws press coverage occasionally but I can't remember Brown drawing it at all, but most of the time he is flexed on the strong side (Z) or in the slot so no press coverage.

Honest question. How do you reconcile this with Cutter Boley's commitment and Coach Coen's recruitment of Stone Saunders? Granted, we need about 4 QBs on the roster at a time. But it is looking like Coen can get it done with recruitment of hs prospects.
Just because we recruit them and they come doesn't mean all will be ready to play. May take a year or two. Use the portal. If you get lucky and a sophomore Boley is ready then you have him for two or three years. If Manning hits the portal at the same time Boley is ready then what? Do you stay loyal to Boley or to the Big Blue Nation and get Manning? I think most of us would want Manning if he hit the portal and wanted to come here.

I'm sure they will develop. We really do have an excellent coaching staff. They have done an incredible job. We are more pumped and have a clearer path to success then basketball at the moment. Stoops is great and I think his best years are ahead of him. He may split for a bigger Job like LSU or even Bama. They will be in rebuilding mode when Saban leaves and that's his speciality

So Manning who will have shown nothing is a guy you would want over our own guy? That’s as silly as this divisive Brown or Key thread.

What does Manning have to do with it? Developing your own players is always better, because you have them in the program for longer. The portal is for plugging holes in the roster. We were lucky to get Leary. It starts strategically with roster building through hs recruiting. Now that Coach Coen is back, it is no longer difficult to envision offensive roster building from the ground up.

I think BB has a unique combination of size, speed, agility that makes him special. He isn't huge and I am prejudice, but best college TE I have saw. Not the devastating blocker Washinton was, but well above average. His hands and route running set the marks for TE. And maybe I am prejudice on my o I inion, but who else matches him?

All good questions to ask the Georgia board. Maybe they’re interested in BB, whatever that is. Lol.

Good point. I was pointing out that as good a year as Brown had he did have some drops that will improve if he develops hand strength which I'd wager he will.

I respect you as a knowledge GA football fan, but PLEASE stop diverting UK football threads to discuss your favorite team and your favorite Bulldog players instead. Nobody is calling you a troll. Nobody is saying you shouldn't post. But if you post on a UK football thread, please keep the discussion on the UK football topic. Again, if you must post on this website about your favorite team, please start a new thread about GA. JMO, but it looks to me like others feel similarly. Some of us would prefer to discuss UK football on the UK football website.

Those are facts. I remember when we played y’all his freshman year and I was like who the hell is this making one handed catches in traffic and scoring multiple TDs.

I can't speak for everyone, but no interest in watching BB, about the same interest as tennis and golf.

Once again I commented to a UK poster who made a comment about a UGA player, I did not bring him up. You don't like my post, which have never been negative about UK, it's coaches or its players, put me on ignore. That would solve your problem with me.

This is a UK football website. It will be easier for our UK football fans if you simply do the reasonable thing and stop diverting UK football threads to discuss your favorite team. Notwithstanding your protestations, most of us want to keep UK football threads on UK football. And despite what you are saying, it is reasonable and fair for UK football fans to prefer to discuss UK football on a UK football website. So even if some of us put you on ignore, this will still be a distraction on the UK website. Personally, I don't want to put you on ignore because you occasionally post interesting comments about SEC football.

Again, nobody is calling you a troll. You can start your own GA thread here, or you can post on the GA football website. You have those options, so try to be reasonable about this please.

In 2022, Dane Key was an "x" and Barion Brown was a "z". They play different positions with different responsibilities. So Kyleb740 is right. Asking if you would rather have Dane or Barion is like asking if you would rather have Trevin Wallace or Jordan Lovett. There is no practical correlation for this question. Football is a team sport.

Furthermore, Kyleb740 rightly points out that UK's offense with Coach Coen and a strong room of young receivers is becoming more attractive for top level hs QB prospects like Boley and Saunders.

My bias was to BB - the UK one - over Key. Then looked at stats & they were comparable other than BB being targeted significantly more for whatever reasons.

It’s is a valid question…relax..it’s a message board

When Wandale was at Wr with Ali and Epps I didn’t care who was x z even abc…Wandale was the man mint even close.

Brown and Kay are both super talented but Key had a way better year at Wr

I am relaxed. Since you opened the door, do you know the difference between an x and a z receiver?
