So here's a question that I hadn't seen anyone really discuss. It may be a moot point because we haven't heard anything on the Murray front in about a week. But IF Brown were to choose UK, would we still want Murray to reclassify and join our team this year, or, with another expected exodus, would we prefer him to wait until next year?
This year Murray would make our top 7 pretty amazing with Mulder and Matthews as our 8th and 9th guys. But we could potentially have them as our only returnees if Lee and Ullis think they could have a chance to go. I almost would rather him bolster our team next year.

We need both, but honestly I think getting Murray is more important. If we get both its on.

I think we either get Murray this year or we don't get him ever. He's an international player so he can enter the draft next year since he'll meet the age requirement and most expect that he will want to enter the league ASAP.

Looking more likely that we either get one of Brown/Murray or we get neither, as opposed to getting both.

Not even giving Murray any consideration until the words " I am reclassifying" are said by him.

Yeah i think Murray is a good recruit but for next year as we have our guards and they are badass. Briscoe is flat out jaw dropping , Ulis will be one of the top 3 pgs in the college game , Mulder is lights out shooter and Matthews is good not great at everything ( but a sure fire pro after 2-3 years) . That doesn't even bring into account Hawkins . that is 5 guards so Murray just isn't needed . Brown is a must have if we want to be THE TEAM next year but even without him we are top 5.

I totally agree, I believe we only need one more recruit to fill out this class, and hopefully that is Brown. If we don't get JB I think we would need Murray to reclassify to win #9 next year. If we get neither we still need one more in this class to fill out the team, but if we don't get Brown or Murray I still think we're a top 10 team next year, with a chance to win it all, just not the overwhelming favorite like we would be if we added one of them.
Both players are great, possibly future NBA all stars, but I only want one because I don't want a situation like we did this past season platooning playing 9 guys, because I feel like that negatively effected our offensive production, rhythm, and flow. I remember games this year wear Booker or the twins were hot and Cal would sub them out, n I was like "why man? Leave Booker in, he's on fire right now." I like a 7 or 8 man rotation, it just produces more offense than platoons to me.
We're getting Brown though, mark it down! (got a great intuition)

We need another shooter to stretch the defense and allow our drivers to have clear driving lanes.

Ulis can shoot for sure, but he'll be looking to penetrate and dish.

Briscoe is a better shooter than some let on, but he is more of a slasher.

Brown (if he comes) is a slasher, not a shooter.

Mulder is a JUCO transfer, and I don't trust JUCO's to make a significant contribution in their first year.

Labissiere and Poythress have enough range to pull bigs away from the basket, but we need an elite shooter to keep defenses from sagging and clogging the lane.

Murray is our last remaining hope to get an elite shooter.
