Seems like he is launching it up there as soon as the ref hands him the ball.

Jeez, take a couple of dribbles and focus for a second.

Actually he needs to never go to the line ever again. I thought he had made some kind of adjustment after hitting something like 6 of 8 going back to last game, but then he missed like 5 or 6 in a row. He's never gonna even get to 50%.

Damn guys. He can't bend his legs. He didn't make one after going out with cramps. Want to gripe about a player? Uh, Hawkins?

You can't shoot a free throw any quicker than Willis and it doesn't seem to hurt him, although he did miss his first of the season tonight.

The quick shooting is actually a new thing. And frankly, he's been a little bit better since he started shooting them that way. I know that's not saying much, but he started it last game when he went 5-6, then he made his first four tonight. Obviously, however, the change didn't have staying power.

Briscoe absolutely played his heart out and his free throws are improving. Best defensive player on team, best driver on team, one of best two passers on team, shooting improving but still needs work. I am fan. Keep working Zay!!!

That's not why he's missing free throws.
The only thing I can think is that Cal wants him to go pro so he's giving him so much PT. being is the game late has been like a turnover waiting to happen when he gets fouled. I wish MM was ready.

If you watched the games you would see that going to the quicker shot release has improved his free throw %. He used to hold it forever and shot @ 30% clip since the adjustment 5/6 & 6/12. Do our fans really watch the game.

Yep, one dribble with the left hand and the shot goes up. Seems to be working much better for him since he switched to that routine. I'd say the pressure just got to him as the game wore on.

And you obviously know NOTHING about basketball. Briscoe is the best driver we have to kick it out to someone and score, he's our best defender, our best rebounder and can run the break well, he deserves all the PT he gets and more.

Who would you have replaced him with? Matthews, Floreal, or Johnny David?

You may want to check his shooting percentages and get back with me. I would rather had MM in the game late. Jmo

I thought after the Mizz game and made 5/6 and was looking good at the FT line he was back making 72% like he did in High School. The OT was a killer missing the 1 and 1 after missing 2 FT's, that is the same as going 0-4 to kick off the Overtime and that killed UK! If we have Ulis or Murray on line and they hit the 4FT's and we are tied and Skal jumper we would be up 82-80 and Kansas went 1/2 at FT line for 82-81 UK lead. This could have changed the OT if we hit our FT's and we had a couple of turnovers and Kansas pulled out the win in OT. When we get to the NCAA Tourney and get to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 and we are in a close game down the stretch we can't have Briscoe running the point driving in to the basket and getting the foul but then go to the FT line and miss 2 each time. We will get beat in those close NCAA Tourney Games if we miss these FT's. We have to play Ulis or Murray at the point if we are driving in and trying to draw fouls and get them so that Ulis or Murray will make the FT's. I would have Briscoe out of the Lineup and have the best FT shooters in the game. I would have Ulis, Murray, Willis, Poythress, and even Skal in the lineup during fouling down the stretch..

If you can't shoot a free throw after 12 years of playing, the deck is stacked against you. Maybe he should do the 'Sign of the Cross" upon entering the line
