FB Recruiting Briscoe adjusts to UK, leaves high school behind

"I've just been learning how to take care of myself off the court and realized that everyone is always watching," Briscoe said. "But on the court I've lost 10 pounds in four weeks and I feel good. I've been eating better and this is why I picked Kentucky. I knew I'd get better on and off the court. I've been working on my body and working on being a better person in general. I'm remaining humble and letting my game do the talking. I'm trying to be a better person on and off the court."

Good stuff. Thanks CI.

I noticed that he was a bit of a trash-talker when I saw videos of him and read things about him, but I still saw where his peers liked and respected him, because he was never disrespectful about it... But at the same time, I'm glad to see that he has decided to turn it down. Don't get me wrong; I think he really is a good character. His hard work and physical transformation is very telling!

This is good to read. I would say that Briscoe probably wasn't really excited for Murray to come because he figured his starting job and playing time just took a hit. But it seems he has responded well instead of being upser. It's clear he's taken it as a challenge, and that's good for both him AND Kentucky. I'm glad he's decided to push himself to get better in every way. Can't wait to see this guy on the court. I think we're all gonna love his drive to compete and win.

The kid selected UK, as a business decision, to make big money at the next level. Now that he is on campus, he is beginning to understand what it takes to reach that goal. All the detractors of Cal say that anybody with talent can make it to the NBA, but as you can see from Briscoe, he is already beginning the journey. It will pay off for him, Cal, and UK. That is why UK should be the destination for these kids, rather than MSU, Duke, or KU. They not only get there quicker, but they are also better prepared.
