Bridges sets official visits to UK and Michigan State

I also like that he said he's fine if they want to play a little stretch 4 at times. I doubt cal would much but I appreciate that he's not set on it like some kids that say "I definitely wanna go somewhere I'm gonna play (insert position)" As if they know better than a seasoned top notch coach where their skills belong.

I'm liking the idea of this kid more & more. As strong and as good a rebounder as he is, he almost seems like he could be a Chuck Hayes type player with a little more offense.

They have a similar build but Miles is a way better shooter, ball handler and athlete than Chuck was. I believe Chuck has him beat in the post/rebounding category though.

He's exploding this summer too. Has shot it well, competed hard, and seems to really have improved off the bounce. Bet he ends up as one of the top 10-12 players in 2016.

Can't be overstated how athletic a class of Simmons/Monk/Bridges would be. With guys like Lee, Hawkins, Matthews and Mulder back, that's 8 ridiculous athletes already.

Following a scrimmage for the USA Midwest team last night at the Nike Global Challenge at Whitney Young High School in Chicago, he talked to Inside the Hall’s Ryan Corazza about each of his finalists:

Michigan – “It’s just a great program. I think I fit in well with them because they run and coach (John) Beilein lets them play. And the most important thing is development because they’re taking unranked players and making them into pros.”

Michigan State – “They’ve been recruiting me forever and I’m real comfortable with the staff. (Tom) Izzo, (Dwayne) Stephens, I talk to them all of the time. My mom, she’s real comfortable with them, too.”

Kentucky – “They just put people in the league. Me and coach (John) Calipari, we’ve gotten close.”

North Carolina – “They’re new. They offered me two days ago and I’ve been talking to coach Roy (Williams). I like their offense.”

Indiana – “Their (player) development is good, I like their coaching staff and it’s just a great basketball school.”

Bridges Nike rockets teammate Cassius Winston( ESPN 28 nationally) trimmed his list to five this afternoon
Harvard
Stanford
Michigan
Michigan St.
Pitt
MSU commit Nick Ward is also on that team. It's no secret Bridges and Winston are very close. Winston commiting to MSU would definately change the odds quite a bit.
That said, Michigan is definately right in the hunt for Winston as well. As an MSU fan you hope Ward has made some inroads trying to get the two into East Lansing. He has said as much repeatedly.
Right now, gun to my head........ Winston MSU 55% Winston UM 45%...... I say this because I think Winston pulls the trigger before everyone knows how much better Tum Tum Nairn has gotten in the offseason, to perhaps hold his spot going forward.
Bridges MSU 65%, Bridges UK 35%

Experts still seem to think he'll end up at UK. I'm not saying I agree, but that's how they see it for the time being.

This is the only argument you have, so I won't begrudge you for it, but this rhetoric is weak when when you look at the number of guys that were expected to be OAD that went to other schools and ended up being 3-4 year players.

There are always a few of those top 10 guys that will turn out to be overrated, but if you look at the numbers as a whole, you will see that with Cal the probability of them not making it is a little lower than with other coaches.

And players that might be thinking about being OAD, even though most think they need multiple years in school, really have to look hard at UK. Bledsoe, Orton, and Booker are the poster children for that.

And can Cal get a 3 or 4-star drafted? Miller, Liggins, and Harrellson come to mind.

Plus he put some guys in the league while at mid-majors UMass and Memphis, where he rarely got 5-stars (especially at UMass).

Izzo is a great coach, but Cal is better at getting guys to the league.

Twist it however you want, but like I said before, does a kid want to gamble with millions because someone says it doesn't matter who coaches them in college even when the numbers do not support that claim?

Cal is better at getting guys to the league because he is a marketing genius, and players like Liggins, Miller, Orton, etc benefit from playing for the biggest program in CBB, and next to sure fire lottery picks.

But regardless, I am not twisting anything. The reality is that all these top recruits that talk about "Cal putting players in the league" is dumb cause they would end up a pro right out of HS if they were allowed.

It's not always a guarantee of success either. Look at the Harrison twins. Look at Dakari Johnson. You can make arguments if they played elsewhere, they would have had a better shot of getting drafted much higher.

Fans of other schools are obviously biased against Cal.

NBA scouts are not.

If they are buying into a player because of a marketing ploy by a college coach, then they won't keep a job long.

Cal is the best at developing players for the NBA right now. He has more hits than misses.

Believe what you want, but the NBA scouts see it the same way.
