Bridges sets official visits to UK and Michigan State

Ooo looks like he's coming to Big Blue Madness. Well that has to be a good sign. Now that Isaac is committed elsewhere Bridges is pretty much the best forward option available

So far it looks like we are heavily involved with Simmons, Monk, Fultz, Alkins and Bridges. I like it. You can take any combination of three and come out smelling like roses.

If we're lucky enough to keep Ulis, Matthews and Mulder to go along with Simmons and Bridges we will be ridiculous.

Izzo rarely holds leads very well in recruiting. Dude has a suspect bullpen.

From what I have gathered, Bridges can and will play the 3 and 4 spots in college.

He can handle the ball well enough to play the 3, and he is physical and rebounds well enough to play the 4.

If he has developed a jump shot, then the sky is the limit for this kid.

Could have a lot to do with the whole positionless player thing Cal has been preaching about. Possible that we see Kobi Simmons at the 1, Markelle Fultz at the 2, Rawle Alkins at the 2/3, Miles Bridges at the 3/4, and Marques Bolden at the 5, while possibly adding Sacha Killeya-Jones as a 4/5 as well for the c/o 2016.
That's an insane recruiting class. I really hope we get Bolden. Kid is like a smaller, more athletic Okafor type player. Not as physically imposing at 235#, but he's got much better speed and is more athletic. Has similar footwork if you watch. The kicker to that, Julius Randle's mentor is his mentor, and the mentor said that Kenny Payne is like a brother to him. Second kicker to that, Bolden hasn't shortened his list yet, but the only school he guaranteed to be in the shortened list is Kentucky, which could be very telling.

I could live with that. Hopefully we have Lee and Ulis back along with Wynyard, Matthews, Mulder, Hawkins, Willis, and Floreal.

Starters
G Ulis/Hawkins
G Simmons/Mulder/Floreal
G Fultz/Alkins/Matthews
F Bridges/Wynyard/Willis
F Lee/Bolden

Or if Ulis and Lee left, we would still be in good shape and have room for another player or two like Killeya-Jones.

G Simmons/Hawkins
G Fultz/Mulder/Floreal
G Alkins/Matthews
F Bridges/Killeya-Jones/Willis
F Bolden/Wynyard

I think you may have misread the article. See below.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Five-star post player Marques Bolden didn’t have his best game Friday morning, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in Pro Skills’ 66-58 loss to The Family at the Peach Jam.

That’s not the norm for the 6-foot-11 Texan, who has emerged as the No. 1 center in the class of 2016.

Bolden has not yet narrowed his list of schools, but he said after the game that Kentucky, Kansas and Duke are sure to make the cut when he does trim that list after the summer basketball schedule wraps up in a few weeks.

So far, Bolden has taken unofficial visits to Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma and Kansas, and he said KU is the only school he knows for certain will receive one of his five official visits. He has not yet scheduled that trip.

UK’s John Calipari and Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski were among the many high-profile coaches in the stands for Bolden’s game Friday morning.

Bolden also said that Pro Skills Coach Jeff Webster will play a major role in his college decision. Webster was former UK star Julius Randle’s mentor in high school.

Scout.com ranks Bolden as the No. 6 overall player in the 2016 class.

It's no big secret that Bridges mom loves Izzo.
As I said a while back on here, I would be surprised if he doesn't end up at MSU.
He likes UK( who wouldn't) but after all the smoke clears, I think he ends up a Spartan, along with his point guard buddy, Cassius Winston, who is currently out with an arm injury. Winston has a visit coming up the weekend of the huge football game versus Oregon.
Those two, Langford, and emerging stud Nick Ward would give Izzo likely his best class ever,
Edit....... I see that Bridges will be at MSU the same weekend as Winston for visit.
I have a really hard time believing those two don't end up playing together

I'm not ready to concede Bridges yet. Yes - him and his Mom are very close to Izzo, but Izzo has had a lot of trouble closing the deal on guys who are seen as OAD prospects.

Meanwhile, it's obvious from his quotes that Bridges is enamored with the UK program and thrilled with being offered. I think if we can get him to BBM before he commits to MSU, we could very well sway him to UK. I think he is the type of kid who would be absolutely blown away by the experience.

Bridges would really fit in well at UK, but he probably stays home because of his friends and family.

The chances of stealing him from the home state team are much slimmer than stealing Monk, IMHO.

Michigan St. is a successful program with an established, successful, title winning coach.

Arkansas is a struggling program that hasn't been relevant for about two decades now.

We might get both, we might miss on both, but Monk is the most likely of the two to leave home, IMHO.

I think Cal's best selling point to Bridges is to point out how MKG went #2 in the draft with the same basic skill set.

Not saying that Bridges is MKG 2.0, but that is a blueprint that Cal can use to mold Bridges, IMHO.

Would be a great haul for the Spartans and I would definitely be excited about that group coming in if that's what happens. MSU is one of my favorite non-UK teams out there.

Hope you're wrong and Bridges ends up in Lexington, of course.

Nice post, Triangle.
You Cat fans are alright in my book.
I know both Langford and Ward have constantly been in both Bridges and Winston's ears lately.
It's possible both could commit over that Oregon weekend dual visit, but frankly, who knows.
Izzo has been on both those kids forever, and they are by far his biggest priority.
Both will be on the football field during that Oregon game with Magic, Cleaves and others for the game and festivities.
lots of effort will be brought to get commits

Bridges is saying that he is coming to BBM this year.

Michigan St. might be my favorite team outside the Bluegrass.

I'd love to see Bridges in blue, but I can live with him being green.

I wish Izzo and Cal would get together and schedule a series.
We played you guys off and on years ago and it was fun.
Izzo just signed a home and home with Florida. They come to Breslin this fall, we go down there in a couple years.
But with Billy gone, I dont see a lot of luster there.

If he makes it to his UK visit then I like Kentucky's chances. If not, I look for UK to sign 3 guards again.
