"Really just coach Pitino’s track record," Bowen said. "He’s a Hall of Fame coach. They’ve been winning a lot of games. The guys that have gone there have done great. I think he’s one of, if not, the best at developing potential in the country. That’s big for me in reaching my goal. My family loved the atmosphere. They loved the area, the campus and they loved the coaching staff."

Heading into his official visit, Bowen said he wasn't sure Louisville would be his school.

"I think the visit sold me on it," he said. "I really didn’t know everything about them. The visit was great. I really thought about it a couple of days afterwards. I got on the phone with coach and let him know that I want to go there."
