Happy April Fool’s Day!
At this point it wouldn’t shock me, The Cats lose to UT who we beat twice, The Braves look like the freaking White Sox and their only decent FA signing just got banned for PED use at the start of the year and is now out for the postseason and 80 games. We also haven’t heard the best news regarding portal studs so far! I wish that was all AFD.Happy April Fool’s Day!
Happy April Fool’s Day!
If you believe Scoop Lemond over at KSR, things might be on the upswing for UK though. I’m actually still just as confident as ever we are gonna be happy with the portal class. At this point it wouldn’t shock me, The Cats lose to UT who we beat twice, The Braves look like the freaking White Sox and their only decent FA signing just got banned for PED use at the start of the year and is now out for the postseason and 80 games. Purdue fan here. I love that you guys think so highly of our point guard, but he's not going anywhere. Think about it.
1. He has total mastery of the playbook (why would he want to learn another playbook in his senior year) and control over the team on the floor. Painter trusts him to run the offense 100%.
2. He is a couple hundred assists from breaking the all-time NCAA record.
3. He owns all the Purdue assist records.
4. Purdue was his only high major offer, and one of the traits that Coach Painter tests for is loyalty.
5. He's a Purdue Mount Rushmore player. He's an all-time Purdue fan favorite.
6. Oscar Cluff just signed...tack on an average of 4 assists per game for Smith.
7. He has insane chemistry with TKR. Have you seen the passes they connect on?
8. He's 1st team All American and top 5 for player of the year. (I admit I'm not a crazy basketball junkie...I only watch Purdue, but how often do All Americans transfer (besides Hunter "Bag Chaser" Dickinson.
9. Teams were throwing CRAZY offers to Zach Edey and he didn't budge. Smith won't either.

I’m prone to playing the fool. I quite enjoy the day when it comes around lolI don't normally get fooled on April Fools day but the title of this thread got me.
Kudos to @ImTheVillageIdiot
Matt Painter runs sets that rocket scientists would have a hard time learning.Solid argument, but "mastery of the playbook" isn't really a thing for basketball. This is more of a football thing. NBA teams don't draft based on knowledge of certain offenses. Players easily learn the offense they're running and are ready to roll.
