Like the previous poster noted, the difference is past and present tense. If there was any job that I would have expected Brad White to get, it was Wake Forest. Unless UK rebounds in a big way defensively next season, I just don't know what his trajectory is now.

As you suggest, marketability of college coaches changes from year to year. But Brad White is a high quality Power 4 coordinator and people in the industry know that.

He hired the Packers linebackers coach (Anthony Campanile) to be the Jags DC.

If we ever get Brad several strong pass rushers, we will have one of the best defenses in the SEC. As it stands, we have no choice but to gimmick and blitz most every down.....and we almost never blitz. That's why even average/below average QB's always have their best game of the season passing when we play.

You realize that his defenses have averaged Top 30 over the last 7 years and were even in the Top 30 in mid November last year before finishing around 40th. Is it selective amnesia or just ignorance of the data that causes folks to bash BW's defense?

I am agreeing with you- defense is really solid, with basically zero pressure on the quarterback. But imagine having a pair of elite pass rushers like South Carolina had this past season- I think it would make us top 10.

Totally agree. He's had adequate to very good defenses without much of a pass rush most years. If he can get pass rushers like Josh, Zadarius etc, then we're a top 3 SEC D.

Brad White is the most overhyped DC in the SEC. He is average at best. One of the worst positions on the defense is the OLB's and he coaches them. In his defense he is running Stoops' defense not his.
