I'm of two minds: 1) he's consistently put good defenses on the field according to stats, 2) his obsession with opening every game with a base vanilla scheme that invariably means we play from behind the whole game, piss poor against 3rd down, going prevent in situations that allow teams to score late (either in the half or in the game or both).
Think he, along with Stoops, has plateaued and we won't see improvement in his overall scheme. One can point to several years where we had really good defensive stats, but also point to games/seasons where it didn't seem like we could stop anyone when we really needed a stop.

Hope he leaves so Mitch doesn’t get an itchy trigger finger and try to hire him when Stoops leaves.
Great news!!! The defense and Brad White are the only things that have been consistent, we are always one of the better defensive teams, they just get wore down because the offense is garbage. If he leaves and is allowed to take coaches and players, would we see Stoops put his brother in the DC position? Maybe Bob comes out of retirement and runs the offense?
It’s hard for me to really know how to evaluate him as a coach because it’s so difficult to untangle how much of our defensive identity both good and bad comes directly from him and how much is Stoops. Would we be better or worse off without him, or look pretty much the same? Would he carry over the bend don’t break philosophy to FSU, or look more aggressive with a different boss? It would be interesting to find out if he does leave.

Is he REALLY a candidate? As in are there rumors his people have talked to their people or does the Sea of Blue writer THINK he would be a good candidate for the job?

You've got the gist with 2nd, but even less definitive. A Sea Of Blue is quoting an On3 story where a guy lists TWELVE names and White is one of them. Mike Major or you might be on that list.
Are they worn down when th e opposing teams first drive of the game is a drive down the field to get in the endzone? This happens almost every single game, then after allowing that first scoring drive White finally buckles down and gets his Defense to start attacking and tackling. It's maddening sometimes but I'm used to it now......I stay pissed off
I wonder if we could get him to take Stoops with him. He could hold White's hand, or be the Linebacker coach maybe. Water boy?
