We'll find out where the committee views us Saturday.

As it stands, some of the Bracket Matrix guys (posting on Twitter) have moved us up to a 3 seed.

1 Seeds: Auburn, Alabama, Duke, Florida
2 Seeds: Tenn, Houston, A&M, Purdue (maybe even a 3)
3. Iowa State, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Michigan, Kansas, or St. John's
4. Seed: Arizona, Wisconsin, whoever didn't get a 3 seed from above.

I think a 2 seed is our ceiling. Florida is sitting at 3 losses, and their schedule seems to be hitting an easier patch. Amazing win for us, though.
2 or 3 doesn't matter too much in practical terms. I think we just want to be a 2 or 3 rather than a 4/5. That way we avoid any of the elite teams/1 seeds until the Elite 8.

Wednesday:
St. John's at Villanova--won't help us get to the 2 line but gives us breathing room.
AZ State @ Tx Tech: same as above

Saturday:
The top 16 seeds get released and maybe screws up this whole thread.

Arkansas @ A&M. Arkansas could help us catch up to A&M with a win here. I'm not counting on it.
Vandy @ UT.
Wisconsin @ Purdue: Tough one where a win hels Wisconsin close ground on us, but I think we root for the Purdue loss.
Houston @ Arizona--Hopefully Arizona is hungry coming off a loss.
Cincy @ Iowa State--unlikely, but would help us take command of the 3 line.
Kansas @ Utah--Screw Kansas regardless

Sunday:
Michigan @ Ohio State. Road game, Ohio State has a couple of decent wins.
Creighton @ St. John's--Again,not trying to hate on Rick, just need the breathing room.

I think we have more of a look for a 2 seed than 3 right now, resume speaking. I guess the losses to Ark and OSU bring us down to a 3 at worst - right now.

lots of games left

watch them do something like what Lunardi has. We'll be in the East 4 seed opposite 5 seed UConn - or a 3 seed and St. John's a 2 seed. The #1 seed in the east will be dUKe. It'll be something like that.

A couple bad losses vs 7 wins against top 15 teams. Let’s see how they view us as of Saturday.
Assuming this will be halftime of the Wisconsin/Purdue game as this is only cbs game of the day?

I still think our injuries are going to be a tough mountain to climb for the remaining road games. Assuming Jrob and Butler aren't done missing games, I think the best we can ask for is a 3-seed, but I'm thinking we might land in the 4-5 range.

Michigan? Do you mean Michigan State? I haven't seen Michigan anywhere near the 3 or 4 seed talk.

Michigan state just lost at home to Indiana, so if our losses to Ark and OSU are going to offset 7 top 15 wins (laughable), then that should knock them down to a 5.

Purdue lost to Michigan last night

Arizona lost at Kansas State last night.

We just need to get healthy. There's pretty much no way we get less than a 4 seed at this point. Most likely a 3 and if we get hot, perhaps a 2.

But a much, much bigger concern is getting guys back - even if that means sacrificing a win or two down the stretch. I'd rather be at full strength as a 4 than a 3 with 2-3 key players still out because we didn't rehabilitate/rest them enough.

I think they're a 4.

I saw a few of the bracket matrix guys posting updates with them as a 4. I thought the updates were before the Purdue game was final, but it may have been after.

I think the Purdue win plants them firmly on the 4 line.

I agree, I think when the dust settles, we are a 4. We have an outside chance of a 3 if we win some road games against the lower half of our conference and an outside chance at a 5 if we stumble against them. Like everyone else has said, we need to hold the line until we can get healthy, hopefully by the Auburn game in March.

If injuries are as many of us think, with Butler and Robinson both out for a couple weeks (3-5 games), then it would be very difficult for us to not lose too many to remove any chances at a 2 seed, even a 3 seed may be tough.

Right now we just need to manage to win a few until we can get people back (say go 2-2 or even 2-3). When healthy we are as good as ANYONE.

So at this point, I am changing my focus from NCAA-T seeding to SEC-T seeding, to avoid the 9-16 seed round on Wednesday.
