Staff is now complete (assuming Stoops doesn't open up more QC assistant spots).
He opened one up for defense, and one for special teams. The one for defense is the safeties coach from EKU, Brian Landis. He has 12 years of coaching experience. Spent 11 years at Georgetown College, and is originally from Lakota High School (which eventually split into Lakota East, and Lakota West).
Louie Matsakis will be the special teams QC assistant. He was the special teams coordinator at Kansas in 2007, when they went to the Orange Bowl under Mangino. As far as our QC assistants go, I think we've made some solid hires in this department. Really, really like the Matsakis hire. We now have Gran, Matsakis, and Clinkscale who have all coached very successful special teams units as ST coordinators in their careers.
