Pretty misleading thread title....

Diallo has not been cleared.

I don't believe Skal's eligibility is being questioned.

As mentioned over the past six months Skal is on the roster and if uk had a game tonight he would be on the court. The NCAA has said nothing about any concerns, at least to the media. Labissiere will be good to go if there was any concerns we wouldn't have had to wait until October, the final off season month, to hear about it. The whole money to a guardian thing just seems like a distant memory now as nothing in the media has come out about it in a while.

I hope they clear him. I want everyone able to play when we smack them.

I hope the best for Diallo and his career. Seems like a great young man and a great young basketball player. Wish we got him, but we'll be a great team anyway. Can't wait to match up against Kansas!

As others have already pointed out, this really means nothing and is really not even worth reporting. We have all seen this before and later found out it didn't matter and our guy having to miss the entire season and take away a possible national championship. Since we recruited this kid and I have nothing personal against him, I hope he's allowed to play and not have his entire year ruined. I also don't want to hear any KU fan excuse of if only this kid played, we beat KY. No. You won't beat our cats with or without this kid. I'll take my team and feel great about going into Kansas and coming out with the win.

I hope he is able to play. Although I hate Kansas, I don't think Diallo deserves to be punished.

I am glad to see you posted. Some people keep bring Skal up saying he might not be playing. There is noting to be concerned about.

Bill Self says KU preparing to present more information to NCAA in Cheick Diallo case

By RUSTIN DODD

The Kansas City StarOctober 6, 2015

As Kansas freshman Cheick Diallo awaits word on whether he can play this season, KU is preparing to present new information on his behalf to the NCAA Eligibility Center.

KU men's basketball coach Bill Self said Tuesday that school officials likely will present to the NCAA in the "next couple weeks" the latest maneuver in an eligibility case that could have massive ramifications for the Jayhawks. Diallo, a 6-foot-9 power forward, is a consensus top-five recruit and the crown jewel of Kansas' 2015 recruiting class. But his freshman season continues to hang in the balance as the NCAA inspects Diallo's three academic years at Our Savior New American, a private school in Centereach, N.Y., that has been subject to NCAA review.

Self said the upcoming presentation should not be considered part of any appeals process - there has been no ruling as of yet - but it appears that the final decision could come down to information exchanged this month.

"I don't know all the ways the legislation runs, but this is one in which, based on the information that (the NCAA) had, it probably wouldn't be a good outcome for us," Self said. "And it's our job to pull together more (information). They've requested more things, and we're working on that."

Self added: "But by no means has there been an answer one way or another. It's basically: 'This wouldn't be a good presentation yet, because we still need to see A, B an C or X, Y and Z.' It's our job to get that stuff together, which we will. It just takes a little bit of time."

Self's latest clarification on Diallo's case came as he stopped in downtown Kansas City to attend the annual Coaches vs. Cancer season tipoff at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland.

"We're still hopeful," Self said. "But they've requested or want to receive information that it takes a little bit of time to gather."

When asked about the possibility of appeals in the case, Self said he believed KU could should it receive a negative ruling in the coming weeks.

"To say where it is in the legislative process, I think it's still in its infant stages," Self said. "If something were to happen, and we not to get a good outcome, I think we have every right to appeal that. But I think they're giving us the opportunity to present before they give an outcome."

Diallo, meanwhile, continues to practice after receiving permission to do so last week.

"He's doing fine," Self said. "He's behind. It's Chinese to some freshmen right now, and he and Lagerald (Vick) are probably a little bit further behind than Carlton (Bragg) at this stage. But that will all change in a week. He just needs a few reps out there. Everything is so new to him right now, he has no clue on what he's doing. But we've only been practicing four days."

probably wrong but i thought the only time the player/program gets its chance to make its case/presentation is during the appeals process.

He might need to start preparing his team to play without him at this point. That is a totally different team without him. He's the only big with any upside on the entire roster. That other big they have(Bragg) wants to be more of a 3 than post player. All the other KU bigs are not even worth mentioning. They better hope he's ready to go. Without him we will go into Lawrence and Come out with double digit win.

The kid speaks four languages. He took and passed 6 hours of college classes. His OSNA classwork isn't what the NCAA requested. It the classwork from his freshman year in high school in Mali that the want to see now. His teammates at OSNA - Dillard (OK State), Wilson (Pitt) Yakwe (St. John's) and Eubanks (Baylor or Georgetown) have all been cleared.

I don't like Kansas but if Skal is eligible then so should be Diallo. Let's not be two faced about it. OK, fire away.

None of us thinks he doesn't deserve to be cleared. He does and its a joke the NCAA is not clearing him already. If you're like us, you expect to get screwed over by the NCAA. I'm sure he gets cleared, but if he doesn't, KU's frontcourt takes a hit.

Then what's the hold up?

Apparently it has something to do with this.

Which completely contradicts RC Texas, but then again, he rarely posts anything tangible.

If he was at UNC he would be a re-season academic all American.Untill the UNC mess is on the front burner any action or investigation by the NCAA that has to do with academics shoud be treated as a joke by the media and the school involved.Any written or verbal conversation between a member school and the NCAA should contain the question "What about UNC"?

What? These two are no where near the same scenario. Skal has zero academic issues.

I'm all for the kid playing but let's understand the situations.

The only reason the NCAA would be looking into Skal would be the actions of his guardian.

Huge difference in academic eligibility and potential violations.

Wilson spent 3 years at ONSA. Dillard spent 2 years at ONSA. Yawke spent 2 years at ONSA. Eubanks spent 1 year at ONSA. What is your point again jarms24?

The kid is apparently pretty intelligent. Hopefully, he won't have to suffer because of the decisions of others.
