For those who accuse Bilas of being a homer, notice Duke is no where to be found in his list of top 15 teams for the NCAA.Here's an excerpt from KSR.
This probably goes without saying, but I’m a big fan of Jay Bilas. Bilas’ no-nonsense approach to the game makes him one of my favorite announcers in the game, and when he talks college basketball, I listen. To get ready for March, Bilas ranked the best 68 teams in the country and Kentucky came in at #14:
14. Kentucky Wildcats
Since Christmas, Tyler Ulis is averaging 19.6 points and 7.9 assists per game. On the defensive end, Kentucky allows an assist on 41 percent of its opponents’ baskets, the lowest assist rate allowed in the nation. The past five games, Jamal Murray is averaging more than 28 points and shooting better than 50 percent from deep.
Here’s his top 15:
1. Villanova (this came out yesterday)
2. Kansas
3. North Carolina
4. Michigan State
5. Oklahoma
6. Xavier
7. Virginia
8. Iowa
9. Maryland
10. West Virginia
11. Arizona
12. Miami
13. Louisville
14. Kentucky
15. Indiana
