Biggest win in UK history?????

You gotta’ be kidding: January 1, 1951., we beat Bud Walton’s undefeated Oklahoma team 13-7, snapping their 32 game winning streak, and giving us a legitimate claim to a National Chamiponship.
Bud Walton. Sam’s bro?? 😂😂

We need to pump the brakes a little bit. This isn’t a Spurrier/Meyer Florida team. A road win against any SEC team is big, but this Florida team might not even have a winning record. However, you HAVE to win these to get to Atlanta and Kentucky is getting closer to that.

The LSU win in 2007 was the biggest of my lifetime but, beating Georgia in Lex. next to the last game this year might be better.
This current Georgia team is legit and from what I've seen is better than Bama right now. Lotta football to be played though.

No it’s not even close to the biggest win. The idiots on state street have gone full blown lord of the flies and it’s an embarrassment. We’ve won 10 games twice in 4 years beat UF 3 out of the last 5 years now. It’s the second game of the year. Let’s save the partying like we won some sort of title and greatest win talk until we make the sec title game now. Act like we’ve been here before you little children. I mean these clowns over there have seen more success in fb in their lifetime than a 70 year old. Those kids should be used to winning.

You are r
OU actually had like a 47 game win streak broken by UK that day
You are right on the name!!

But I’m 90 percent sure the 47 game winning streak came from 52 on.

I saw it the other evening trying to find out how Kentucky’s OOC winning streak stacked up.

A regular season win over an average florida team the biggest ever? Really?
Time will tell if Florida is average.

Let’s not denigrate our win too much.

Let’s just say we need to see how both UK and Florida play out the season to fully adjudge its significance.

There were folks willing to write the 2018 Gators off after our win, but they ended up winning ten, including a NYD6 Bowl that likely should have been ours!!

Florida just beat the pac12 favorite who turned around and beat a team by 70. Then we went into the swamp no easy feat for anyone and really we dominated the game after uf took a 9 point lead on us. That was a big win. Florida is a good team UK perhaps though is a great team.

It was a good win. Period. Stop the sensationalism.

Why?

You know UF has 5 former 5 Star players, and more former 4 Star players than we do.

Hell, if you don’t rock your own baby, no one else will.

Fear of “rat poison?”

I think this staff and team are too focused to give a damn what’s written in these forums.

The AP voters were more sensationalistic than anyone on this thread, bumping us 11 spots to number 9, three slots ahead of where I thought we would be!!

An argument could be made.
It is obvious you do not have knowledge about UK football or are too young to remember. But it is all good, if you do a little research you can catch up. Or maybe ask your grandpa about some high profile wins of the past.

Beating No 1 Ole Miss was bigger than Florida Saturday Night and it is not Top 5. Our Sugar Bowl victory will be at the top until something bigger comes. Beating Florida is not that something bigger.

Sure felt like it. Haven't felt like this before. Different type of excitement, not basketball excitement. Almost can't believe it sometimes. I look at the TV and smile like a MF. Our defensive players slide all around pre snap the look like Bama but wearing blue.

Not trying to be rude but are you relatively young?

40. Is that fairly young. I Wasn't around for Bear Bryant. Lol that would be the last time you could possibly feel anything good really. I mean a couple years hear n there but nothing like this. Is that what you are referring to or something else? How old are you? Why do you ask. Just curious?

I wasn't around for Bear either but the OP asked for biggest win in UK "history". Therefore, beating #1 in the Sugar Bowl was the obvious choice to me. Many gave UK claim to the National championship with that win, though not official. We've had a few more big wins in the more modern era I would put ahead of last Saturday's game too but that's just one fan's opinion.

I agree. That was big. But seeing that it was over 70 years ago I kinda forgot. Lol. Not many people alive experienced that. So yeah I suppose that was biggest in history. Not so sure competition was what it is now but that's irrelevant for this conversation. So I suppose I'm only taking in the history I remember. Which wasn't the question I'll admit. I suppose it's the possibility to do something we haven't done in awhile. I think the cards are stacked in our favor(which is also new for me) being our hardest test will be Georgia at home at night. Night games have a different feel to them. I know we have some tuff games ahead I just feel we pased our 2nd hardest test in beating Florida on the road without C-ROD.

I don't know but it was maybe the toughest considering how bad the O line looked and on the road to a team ranked ahead of us.

That game meant little in the big picture. Not that it wasn't a big win.
Still biggest win so far in UK history. If we don't win at least ten wins you could then say beating Florida meant very little. Beating LSU and storming the field is a huge memory for me and my family.

You are right. If we don't continue winning it will mean very little.
Hoping this win is the start of something great this season.

Great win, especially as A visitor. One other win over a ranked team on their home field was the 1977 win over Penn State. UK was unranked and Penn State was ranked 4th. UK won 24 to 20. This game had final poll implications because it was PSU’s only loss. The loss cost them a national championship.

Excellent post, agree with all you say.
