I’ve been here for a bit think I will stick around. Not sure what message boards are for, other than expressing ups and downs. Especially during a game. But again, congrats on being a giant douche and going back in my post history to find a moment of frustration. You are a message board hero.

Fact is Z is a face up 4 and will shoot 3's at the next level. Cal wants him to be in the post and guarding the opponents' bigs ... set up for failure, much like Skal was.
Don't disagree with you on either account. AB is slightly better on D, but not much though. Neither bring much to the table on defense. This team can score without Z, but can't play defense with him on the floor right now. Got to play D to win in March.
We all loved the Georgia game but let’s face it, that was akin to a backup qb coming in and facing a team with no film to prepare. He took Georgia by surprise and it was always unfair to expect those results to repeat.
I hate how folks have decided Z is a catalyst to drag Cal more. One thing has nothing to do with the other. You can still drag cal for a multitude of things and still recognize that Z is not ready to compete every day at this level. I’m looking at you @Mike-McD or should I say “Morg Damon”

Against Gonzaga, when we couldn't stop anything--I thought going all in on the offense made sense.
Against Auburn, where we played amazing defense--I thought it made sense to sit Z after getting destroyed on defense and mishandling the ball on offense the next play

For those who try and say cal is still a top notch coach need look no further than what happens after every single timeout he calls to set up a play. I’m not sure we have even gotten a shot off this year when that happens which is damn near impossible but somehow it seems we never do.
I used to get mad because Cal wouldn’t call a timeout and set up a play, now I wish he wouldn’t.
Yeah, I think that's why he didn't play in this one. And I think it was a wise decision. The NCAA screwed him over by not letting him have any games before the new year. It put him behind. If he had those 20 early games, he might have been ready for a game like at Auburn.
He will get minutes in some of our remaining home games (and perhaps a couple road games, too) and maybe he will continue to get stronger and better defensively. That's his problem. Problem we have right now is that it's time to shorten the rotation and he's just not ready yet.
Dont blame CCC for taking Z out after his atrocious defense. I would have chewed his butt at halftime and let him know that he would get some time in the 2nd half. When? I don’t know but Ugo needs a breather and Z needs some confidence. We just don’t have any big men besides Adou to rebound. We may need him with Mitchell out and Ugo needs some rest or is in foul trouble. Put him at top of the foul line setting screens and getting open for jumpers. Better alternative than Bradshaw because of his offensive potential.
