Probably the best offensive game he has had at UK. 8 points, hitting his 3's, hitting his FTs, etc. Good for him.

Definitely! The kid plays his heart out for Kentucky and it's great to see his shots falling today, especially in a game like this!
Only if he is knocking down shots, which is sadly rare. I had to give him props today though, but not expecting much, if at all, offensively in the 2nd half.
So proud of Hawk coming up so big in such a huge game. Need that with Briscoe out. Hope he continues to shine in 2nd half.
Hawkins has always played in big games. Look back to the Michigan game his Freshman year. Kids a grinder and built for these games.

Ulis and Hawkins won the game with those 2 late threes, we couldn't stop them at all on defense, we had to have those shots
he's practiced against major talent for years - has poise and has logged game time in big tine situations - I love how Cal has used him - even going back to what were much more talented UK teams --- he's obviously got a good work ethic too ---

Career highs 13 points, three made 3s and he hit big free throws late.
all his threes were timely. he just relaxed and knocked them down. the last three was huge.
At the end of the game he was responsible for a shot clock violation because he didn't want to take the shot , it gave UL a better chance at winning than they probably would have . He played fine otherwise but stuff like that is why he doesn't play more .
So happy for him. He stepped up huge in Briscoe's absence. Yes, there was the shotclock violation at the end, but that possession was pretty bad on other players, too. His defense on Lewis was notable.

Hawkins was the last player that had a chance to get a shot off and he knew it , he did not want that shot and it's his fault at that point . It didn't get us beat but he should know better and that self doubt puts him on the bench even more than he would be .
unfortunately - true; I think he froze up; he's not been in that particular situation before.
That being said - a lot of his play negated the not so good stuff Murray did, so it's safe to say without him, no win

After the game, Hawkins told reporters that, growing up, he pretended to play in Kentucky/Louisville rivalry games with his friends that cheered for Louisville. The result then? “Kentucky usually won.” Thanks to Hawkins, that’s still true today.
