I was at the game and I think he missed a sign to hit and run in the previous inning where the runner on first got thrown out at second. The pitch was a little outside but was hittable and had he taken it to right, we would have had runners at 1st & 2nd. I thing Ming got pissed and pulled him but I could be wrong.I don't get A Rod pinch hitting for Shinn, and Kessler getting to hit !
So I am sitting in my seats and eavesdropping on two scouts next to me and they were saying the same thing. One scout says he knows what Hjelle is doing differently this year with his mechanics and asks the other scout what he knows about Belanger, the pitching coach and whether he is any good. He said if he can see it then the pitching coach should too. He was actually recording Hjelle with his camera. His last two starts have been horrible... And he most certainly does not look like the picture he was last year
Very disappointing that Lewis and Haake are not available this weekend. We are fortunate that Hjelle was able to gut out 7 innings. All I've heard for Miss. State is how things have gone bad for them and how they have overcome...
UK lost their Saturday starter and first round pick. They lost their 3rd round pick reliever and he has struggled with an injury all year. One of their better relievers went down last weekend. Now our best pitcher and most consistent pitcher has forearm tightness and won't pitch in one of the biggest weekends. This isn't talked about enough. We've labored through this season.
LOL, that is a good post. I guess that John's beard must have thrown him off !Speaking of scouts and media. I had a media guy tell me three times to sit down. Finally I turned around and told him I paid for my seats and I would stand if I want to. Also, he didn't have a freaking clue about the game of baseball and even who was on the team. Argued with another about who was coaching first base. Said no way it was John Shelby.
