Pretty sure that profit turned into a deficit pretty quick if I remember correctly. Lonzo could have signed a massive multi million contract with Nike, Adidas etc. That was the easy money, now his stardom has faded considerably
They were selling shoes like crazy initially. Granted it was only a few hundred pairs of each design that were initially created, but they sold out of the custom Lonzo and LaMelo shoes in the first couple of hours. And they were like $500 and $400 a pair.
How do we know they were selling like crazy? That were/are not publicly owned. So no one knows how many they sold, how much they spent on marketing, production, inventory salaries, etc...

Lonzo was a 1st rounder who was never going to complete his education. The other 2 were expected to go similar routes. The middle kid was always overrated and pretty stupid evidently, considering he got caught stealing a pair of $300 sunglasses in a foreign country. He can still have a legit shot at the G league and maybe play his way onto a roster or go overseas. Considering he already had interest from overseas teams, I doubt it would be much of a stretch to get more now. No doubt, he took a risk and for his family it worked out to a degree. For him personally, he took a loss. But he still can improve that. Sign a lower, shorter deal endorsement deal now. Have a couple big seasons, make a couple all-star teams and the amounts likely get higher than the initial offers were back then.

They could be lying, but seems unlikely as it was never reported that Lonzo or any of the athletes were actually paid more than an annual per diem. So if they were going to lie, it seem illogical to not lie about the fact your star athlete is generating more than a $1,200 profit. Particularly when part of the business plan was to acquire other athletes to the BBB.
Well a lot of NBA personal disagree with you because there is a lot of positive buzz around the kid, particularly his shooting and offensive ability. So I think I will probably consider their opinions with a little more weight.
No, I am saying it because they are high level athletes with considerable professional interest, which for at least 2 of them was/is very mutually reciprocated. Considering the middle kid got NBA workouts and looks from teams this year, plus a few summer league offers, I would say there was some level of interest for him as well. Which ones were considering Berkeley? Which ones would have passed up a first or second rd draft pick to stay in school? Why does their race matter to you?
No doubt he will lose some value. More so for the fact he has not lived up to the billing yet than the fact he did not take their initial offer. He also gave his family a chance to make some money and build a brand. In the end they were able to make a few hundred grand and the brand did not work out. I highly doubt they expected it to. It doesn't change the fact he still has opportunities to sign with companies now and grow his deal if he improves his play.
His middle son was always overrated but still garnered interest. The youngest son will make more om his first contract next year than most of the people who have posted in this forum will make in the next 5 - 10 year combined. Making a few guaranteed million in the NBA is much smarter than getting a 4yr degree that might pay you 80,000 a year if you are lucky. And if you are smart, you really don't even need the college degree to get that.
