Big 12 "Reprimands" Bob Huggins for criticizing corrupt refs in the now famous 35-2 Kansas swindle

What a joke. These coaches should continue to shine a public light on these striped cockroaches and their poor performance until their respective conferences are forced to acknowledge their poor performances and biases.

At the same time however I think the league was forced to recognize the travesty which is why he received a verbal rather than a hit to the pocketbook.

I'm sure if a coach criticizes the officiating and knows it's coming, I'm sure he meant it. It would be hard to review that game and not agree somewhat with what Huggins said. This has always been a problem for visiting teams against Kansas, it doesn't surprise me that they don't agree.

Send Higgins, Luckie and Ayers to a West Virginia game next year on shine night [laughing]

There is also a seldom seen video made after Baylor's a$$ kicking of the fake birds a couple weeks ago. A Baylor player was asked how important it was to get up on KU by double digits in the last few minutes & the player said "we knew we needed to be up 10 with 2:00 to go because KU will get all the calls at the end". Every team in the big 12 believes they will get shafted - even on their home floor. I believe the big 12 is suppressing the video cause I can't find it.

And if Calipari had spoken so brazenly about the Higgins shit-show-shafting in the dance last year, he'd have received a million dollar fine and a show-cause penalty.
Cal was pretty critical of the officiating, probably more directly than Huggins was in his comments.

They can't say anything regarding the game in question due to Higgins being one of the stripes....He skates and so do the other two.

Found it! “It was good to have a lead by 10 over the last three minutes, otherwise, you know, if it was a close lead, you know, they would have just starting to get some calls, just because, you know, that’s Kansas and they get all the calls,” Omot told reporters.

I get more and more astounded at how corrupt some refs are and how little the people in charge of them care! How does this continue to happen?
LOL this happens to most corporations / business / governments ect . The people with power want to keep the power and are fine with the coruption as long as it isn't in the light. Once it is and they can't deny it they act enraged for the cameras but continue making deals behind backs. If you don't think many of these refs are shady or at least don't have axes to grind and teams to protect or punish you are ignoring reality.

Terribly lopsided, then again West Virginia is the worst closer in College Basketball this season. They've blown numerous big leads over people.

And we still have people try to explain this away and say officiating doesn't change the outcome of games... Consider style of play Nuance BS from the Bilastrator (AKA BSastrator) types. Hell the Tyler Ulis team got jobbed there just about as badly. Fouls called 33 against UK to 20 against Kansas. Free throws 22 UK attempts to Kansas 47 attempts. So all BS aside - this has been going on at Kansas for a long time.

There is nothing that fascinates me more than sports fans acting like there is a massive referee conspiracy. I get complaining about calls and teams who routinely get them, but do you honestly think that refs go into a game trying to fix it one way or the other? And the leagues condone it?

These places are printing money and the refs make a good living. Why give that up for possible jail time? So that KU can win a 14th straight title, like that is good for anyone other than t-shirt manufacturers? And why wouldn't Texas and Oklahoma, the money makers in the conference, have a problem with this?

Why are the referees untouchable? Because they're just doing what they're told? or just cheating for personal gain?

MANY reasons - lol - but since you are a JayHawk fan you can't see it... lol. Don't worry - Duke fans suffer from the same issue(s) of being unable to see biased officiating. Why would refs do it? IDK - even MORE money? Why would the conference condone it - IDK so that can have their conference crown jewel?

Let's try this KU fan... why don't you spend a season or two or 14 of getting screwed by everyone else in the conference on their home floor. Let's see how many games you win with the same 35-2 Free throw attempt disparity. Let's see how many games with a 25-35 free throw attempt disparity, where you lose a big lead, and lose the game - that KU fans don't bitch about. If it's no big deal why not spot other teams 33 free throw attempts on your home floor (not to mention fouling out one to two of your key players). Jeez. Nothing fascinates me more than a dumb ass who benefits from one of the most noted and documented home court "advantages" in the history of the sport, but cannot see the forest for the trees.

Watched a rare KU home loss earlier in the season, can't remember the opponent. KU was trailing late and the screwing commenced. Fran Frascilla made the comment, - paraphrasing here, but close to this: "You have to be better than perfect to win here" in reference to the officiating.

It's not like we're all just imagining this.

Over at the Higgins Missed Calls Thread, we’ve got a bit of info on Huggins--- from the Duke Final Four debacle with DaSean Butler’s “foul” injury to Huggins pushing for reform. Here’s an excerpt from an article found at https://247sports.com/college/west-...kes-Centralizing-Evaluating-Referees-51156677

“Huggins would know about travel. The impact has already been felt by his team when they actually play the games and do so twice in four nights. But six games in seven nights obviously has an effect, and - not to pick on Higgins, but he is the poster child for this topic - Higgins ranks as one of the most "influenced" refs in the country. He calls, on average, 2.2 more fouls per game on the visitors than the home team, which ranks 239rd in the country. That more than anything has Huggins calling for a change to the system.”

Of course Coach Cal and Coach Huggins are the best of friends. Before our matchup vs. WVU, Jay Bilas went “94 Feet” with Huggins and he said Cal was his best coach friend. Higgins does not officiate good games for either coach. It’s refreshing to hear a coach say what we’re all thinking. It’s refreshing to hear him tell his team the loss was “not their fault.”

Why must the NCAA and Conferences continually promote those who make such egregious calls or no-calls? Promoting Higgins to work the Final Four after the travesty that was the Elite Eight and then receiving Ref of the Year was nothing short of unbelievable. But very telling, indeed.
