Best Scrooge

I will also nominate Henry Winkler from the 1979 American Christmas Carol. Not for his performance, but for their makeup department making him look exactly as he looks 45 years later.

I’m going with Albert Finney. He didn’t just play Scrooge, he sang, danced, and his version has an actual scene in Hell.

Sir Michael Caine is the best Scrooge. That’s why A Muppet Christmas Carol is one of my favorite Xmas movies.
I was just telling my wife last night that same thing. Although Alistair Sim was good, I thought Michael Cains performance in the Muppet Christmas Carol was the best. They took the humorous part of the Muppets and paired it with a serious portrayal by Cain and meshed it perfectly.

It's the most underrated christmas movie IMO. The music is fantastic too. I find myself singing or humming many of their songs.

Guy Pearce did a good job with the character in the FX version of A Christmas Carol. But my favorite is George C. Scott.
