Best breweries in Lexington?

West Sixth is my standard for Lex. They don't make anything I would rate worse than good and you can get a top notch fish sandwich. I recommend it to everyone.
I've heard great reviews about Blue Stallion and Country Boy lately so try them. That's the end of my list.
I know Ethereal makes decent beer, but I went once with another couple and decided they didn't make anything worth standing in a crowd of gender fluid lumberjack impersonators to drink. I know trendy people like these places but damn.

Hit up Country Boy. Drank Survive Pils. Pretty good. Hiked over here to Blue Stallion. Working on a War Admiral Weizenbock. 8.2%. Wonderful. Best so far. May try Ya Damn Skippy in a few before heading back.
I was with a group so i didnt get to go everywhere where i wanted. I need to hit up rock house, pivot, all tech and mirror twin. What did you like from country boy austincat

I visited 5 Lex breweries between Nov 25-26. My rankings:
1. Ethereal. Baba Yaga (13% ABV) Coffee Vanilla Russian Imperial Stout is killer. Love the atmosphere down in the old distillery district.
2. Blue Stallion. War Admiral Weizenbock (8.2% ABV) is a superb example of the style. Ya Damn Skippy also pretty good. Great feel to the place.
3. West Sixth. Pennyrile Pale Ale. Decent. Nice setup. I've drank many different West Sixth brews over the years and have never been disappointed. Like the location.
4. Rock House. Uncle John's Brown Ale. Brewed with hemp seeds. Solid. Rustic location dates from the 1920s. Well worth the visit.
5. Country Boy. Survive Pilsner. Inexpensive. Beer was good, but something about the atmosphere sorta irked me. Place was packed. Cats losing badly to the Cards at the time may have factored into the equation.
By the way, I hiked from my room, located at Days Inn off N. Broadway near I-75, to all destinations and back on the 25th (roughly 8.5 miles round-trip). Hiked on foot again to West 6th, Ethereal and Rupp Arena on the 26th. After the game, I rode bus #6 to Russell Cave and Radcliffe Rd, and cut through the neighborhood on foot. Rental car was not moved between 10 am on 11/25 until 9:30 am on 11/27.

Nice! I don't have tickets this year so I miss the Pepper Campus, Village Idiot, Pazzo's, Victorian Square etc.
