Thanks for the heads up. Like hearing new names for kids that are going to likely end up in the portal.6’4 PG for Drake.

Ben knows his stuff. I'd say he won't be at Drake long, but hell was in Maryville MO forever when he had other opportunities. His offenses are in the leaders for efficiency every year at all levels it seems.Nice solid player and he never comes out of the game. Drake is well-coached.
yes they are & play hard tooNice solid player and he never comes out of the game. Drake is well-coached.
This is true, kids these days have game and are at a smaller school or level because they hadn’t developed (physically or academically). Now they are good enough to play at a higher level and get paid for it. If this was your kid, would you want him to play up or stay at smaller school? This is becoming sad.
These schools will become nothing but feeders for power conferences. A de facto development league.
We are approaching a tipping point with college athletics and I don’t know how much more I can stomach.

My only reply would be I doubt Drake fans, or any of these fans of mid major schools, have the same definition of success as UK or Duke, etc.How would you feel if you’re a Drake fan and you have a great player that could lead your team to big wins and success walk out the door for money and a bigger stage? And people openly cheering for it to happen at schools like Kentucky or Duke?
This is unsustainable and has been driven by pure greed.
Do you want to watch an NCAA tournament filled with mediocre Virginia Tech’s who won 17-18 games but somehow managed to barely get to .500 in their conference?
As long as money is in the game kids deserve to make some of it but we are approaching such a complete and utter bastardizing of college football and basketball I’m starting to ask what is the point anymore?
He’s at WVU. New coach is Ben McCollum. Formerly of D2 Northwest MO State.Put Darian DeVries in the group of up and coming coaches....

I’m not a Drake fan. I’m a Kentucky fan. It benefits us so I’m happy. Whatever benefits Kentucky is what I wantHow would you feel if you’re a Drake fan and you have a great player that could lead your team to big wins and success walk out the door for money and a bigger stage? The flip side is that those schools could become the best place for under the radar kids to come and develop as well. So they may recruit better overall in the long run.My only reply would be I doubt Drake fans, or any of these fans of mid major schools, have the same definition of success as UK or Duke, etc.
Winning your conference, making the NCAA tourney and maybe being a Cinderella story for a week in March is probably their expectations.
If a kid has developed and worked hard o don’t see them getting a bigger opportunity as a sport killing development. JMHO
Yeah, I don’t really see it from him but you never know. He’s a solid kid. Dad was head coach at Liberty (MO) for 20+ yrs. The kid literally dreamed of playing for Ben growing up. He’s a typical coaches kid with just a touch of flare to his game. He’s just continued to get better every single year too. I’d be surprised if he left Drake and Ben, but anything is possible, especially with the cash.Stirtz came with McCollum from D2. I don’t see him leaving. But we’ll see what happens when teams drop a bag on him.
