Bengals @ Chiefs Thread

More cap space than any team in the playoffs. Burrow gets the Bengals to the Super Bowl in his second season. FA destination.

Think O-Lineman will be happy to come to Cincinnati and compete for Super Bowls for the next 10-12 years.
Yeah. One of the best things about Joe is ballers around the league want to play with him. He's special like that and the other players see it.

I feel like I just confused and triggered a lot of people.

I can’t believe no one noticed that Mixon was not touched on the OT drive and willingly dropped the ball when he got up. That was a fumble and even though KC called a timeout, the booth never even looked at it.

Imagine if they called that and KC scores. I would’ve quit sports.

Mixon is a scrub! Anybody that punches a woman like that, SCRUB!

Congrats! Just think, if you win this whole thing you will no longer have Alabama fan arrogance with Vanderbilt's trophy case.
Arrogance really? LOL poor comparison actually but I will take it that we made it and the possibilities of a few more in the next years is possible.

Cap space looks good so you could definitely go on a run. Gotta figure out the OL. Burrow can't continue to take that pounding and stay healthy.

From my understanding, he gave himself up since he didn't try to advance the ball after going down. I believe that's what the refs told the Chiefs.

This. From the NFL rulebook on its web site:

Rule 7, Section 2, Article 1

“(d) when a runner declares himself down by:
(1) falling to the ground, or kneeling, and clearly making no immediate effort to advance.”
Rule 7: Ball in Play, Dead Ball, Scrimmage

I am numb. I can't really believe it. Mercy me what a game. What a comeback. They did it. They really did it. Wow....just wow.

I had to rewatch all the postgame stuff on the DVR because at the time it was live I was sitting in a numb, stunned silence with a huge grin on my face.

Then I spent the next 2 hours responding to texts from friends and relatives - some of whom I hadn’t heard from in years - who knew I was a Bengals fan who’d lived through the lost decade (90s) and 31 year playoff drought.

Feels good for us longtime sufferers.

I’ve been a Benglas fan 35 years and I’ve never heard anyone describe the fanbase as arrogant. I’m sure there’s some really happy fans talking smack today, but those same fans have been disappointed and made fun of constantly for the last 30 years.

A more appropriate description of Bengals fans typically would include defeatist, pessimistic, self deprecating, and even a tad little brother-ish.

Jesus, the Bengals are in the Super Bowl. The only thing that could rock my world more would be Kentucky playing in Atlanta vs. an SEC West champ. Or maybe the Reds in a World Series.

Off season OL, DB, Edge should solidify them for 10 years. :) They can't get cheap and think they can fix it all with rookies in the draft. Gotta mix and match vets and bring rookies along slowly.
Spot on.

I’ve been a fan since day one of the franchise — 55 years now (I was 3). I can’t say I’ve ever known an arrogant Bengals fan lol. We have, mostly, been the lovable losers. We’ve had plenty of success, but the national perception is ineptitude. I’ve also never known a bandwagon Bengals fan. And that’s the best part about what’s going on now. Suddenly the whole country is embracing us. It’s pretty cool.

Joe took the Bengals to the Super Bowl in his first full season.

He’s going to be a top 10 of all-time.
Again…only if he can stay healthy for long enough. Nick Foles also was a Super Bowl QB (won the MVP) but I don’t consider him great.
