I didn't see this posted anywhere but this is truly sad. He spent 2 years at Ohio State and then spent the last 2 at UK with one season he spent the whole season injured. He was going to spend this season with UNLV prayers to his family such a tragedy and gone way to soon!

This is horrible news. Prayers being said for his family.

That sucks. I wonder what happened? Highly unusual for an athlete to die in their sleep.

Not as much as it used to be, unfortunately. Energy drinks and medical side effects are taking their toll on young people now as well as us older people. Myocarditis and pericarditis, blood clots, arrhythmia.... all hitting young people now, too.

Heard about a study they're doing or have done on nicotine as an immune boosting treatment (patches?) for people with long covid, parkinsons, and other ailments like myocarditis. Was going to share that on other thread and just remembered it.

Don't know what I'd do if this happened to my kids or nieces and nephews...

I'm not sure how I've lived into my 50s after all ingested when I was younger.

I just read a story on WLWT ( which is a local news station here in Northern Kentucky / Cincinnati ) that it was said he died of natural causes. I mean 21 years old that’s just really sad!
Here is the story that you are referencing: https://www.wlwt.com/article/cause-of-death-revealed-ben-christman-ohio-state/63843791

The source of this information is an obituary put out by the family. I had read that an autopsy was going to be performed, so the information is likely based on a preliminary instead of a full report.

What does it mean to die of ‘natural causes’?

Simply put, a “natural” death is one that occurs due to an internal factor that causes the body to shut down, such as cancer, heart disease or diabetes. It means there was no external reason for the death, such as a traumatic injury.

Thanks I can’t post stories from the phone.

UNLV football player Ben Christman experienced chest pains during practice the day before his tragic death ... this according to new docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say an officer was dispatched to Christman's off-campus apartment shortly after 10 AM on Feb. 11 ... after receiving a 911 call from a teammate who found the offensive lineman lying on his back, foaming at the mouth and with purple fingers.
