Being picky here but .5 seconds

that was put on the clock after refs review I thought was wrong looked more like .1 when I saw the replay and the ball going through the rim am I wrong or did anybody else think msu was given too much time
I saw one replay but failed to really pay attention. The ball has to clear the net before the clock is stopped but I was thinking that it was less than .5 seconds to go as well. With how Hubbard was shooting he merely needed to catch and let fly to beat us. Glad shep got his 2nd steal there.

Edit: just saw the replay and hard to argue with it. Ball was at the bottom of the net with .5 to go.

That's what I was thinking that hubbard kid was on 🔥

Clock stops when the ball comes out of the net, I don't have a replay to check.
If it's when the ball leaves the net, it was closer to .2 or maybe .3 if you're stretching it.

If it's when the ball passes through the rim, it was closer to .4

I always thought it was when the ball passed through the rim. When my son and I watched the replay, we both said it should be .4 and then both said, "but these refs will give as much time as possible." Then they said .5 and we both laughed.

Dykes said it's when the ball passes through the net. Thought that was at .3 when I saw it on replay.

I thought it was when it goes through rim, and based on that I also expected 0.4

Maddening to think this sort of thing, could have meantthe difference between a loss and a win vs LSU.. or worse yet, an additional loss last night.

Some might think it doesn't matter, that you should be able to play through any and ALL bad calls and officiating. But it matters. That's a two win (or loss) swing potentially. It would have meant the difference between a 2-seed and a 6-seed.

Not every team earned it's win, and not every team deserved it's loss.

I think the angle matters.

This video on YouTube. You can put it on 0.25 speed, pause it, and get an iso angle of ball through net and shot clock in upper right corner. It was 0.5 seconds.

If you do one straight on, looks like it's 0.5 or 0.4 depending on what you judge as the ball not touching anymore.

Oh the refs definitely contribute. Sec conference games are almost unwatchable

Yeah I thought they got it right but the only way they could have gotten a shot off was a tip correct? Doesn’t it have to be .7 or more to catch and shoot?

All that matters is we WON !
I had to go outside and walk down the street at the end of that game. Rob made 2 FT’s we went up 8. I said to myself that these last 50 seconds will be the longest ever!

Immediately hits the 3 and I said to my wife, “here we go again!” Then It got down to 4, and when UGO fouled that dude I said to her, “I can’t take this.”

I walked outside and down the street until it was over and she called me saying we won. It felt like watching a tournament game. My heart can’t take those swings anymore.

Especially on our end, home or away. I watched 3 different games tonight and there were the typical BS/Review for everything plays but it never felt like one team was getting hosed. Pretty bad but even overall.

I thought it was exactly .3 when the ball actually went through the net when they showed the replay.
I think when they froze the play the ball was like 3/4 of the way thru and it paused the clock at exactly .005 on the TV replay view. I think that frame is probably what they used to decide .005.

When that dude tied the game with that wild 3 I was in shock. It was unreal..that shot always goes down against us to tie the game. I thought we were headed for another overtime and loss after being up 8 with seconds left. When Reed won it I lost my mind. I was in Walmart parking sitting in the car. My wife and kid thought I was crazy lol.

Yep, when he made that ridiculous, off-balance, leaning to his right 3pt shot, I just slumped. I immediately thought "that's probaby a loss." If we had lost it, we would have been analyzing those final seconds and how we nearly gave it away- the Onyenso foul? The bad pass, turnover and foul? We gave away 3 points right there. We should have still been up by 3 even with those 3 ridiculous from Hubbard. Thank goodness Reed made that shot.

watching this video the ball is in UGO's hand and the clock between the two scores shows .6. It looks like it is clear of the net with .7.

I do the same thing, they won’t watch games with me lol. Apparently I scare them 😂 .

My wife does not care about watching games. She goes into the bedroom and closes the door and watches the TV in there while I watch the big screen in the living room. I yell at the ref's calling the game to much for her. :) I let out a yell when Reed hit that game winning shot.

The Associated press said Shepard scored with 2 tenths of a second left to win the game for Kentucky. Everybody knew when the officials went to the monitors, they would put more time than there really was left, so Mississippi State would have a chance, and they did by putting 5 tenths of a second back up. Nothing good happens for Kentucky when the officials go to the monitor, at home or on the road, the results usually favor our opponents. If the officials had of put the 2 tenths that were remaining, there would have been a riot, so they give them a chance although very little one, knowing they could get out of Starkville alive.

In a FG, ball becomes dead after entering the basket( rim) and becomes live coming out of the net
Wong, Heres an example. If what you said was true this would have been "dead" because it passed the rim, but for a FG to count it must come through the net. There was also another example that I remember watching years ago.
