Becoming Led Zeppelin

Have not seen the Zep one, but did watch the History of the Eagles, which was also top notch. Learned a lot about the ins and outs of the music business, if nothing else. Plus love the Eagles, so was a win win

I'm going to have to see this. They're my favorite band of all time. I see it's at Stonybrook. I may go Monday.

This reads as if you don't like most Rock docs. So many excellent ones. Woodstock, Yacht Rock, Summer of Soul, Greatest Night in Pop, Decline of Western Civilization, Stop making sense.
This reminds me of the Denny Crum John Wooden recruitment of Bill Walton story.

Crum came back after watching Walton in high school and Wooden asked him what he thought. Crum said Walton was the best player he ever saw. Wooden scolded him and told him there's no way, that he didn't see Kareem in high school and other players. So, Wooden went and saw him. When he got back, Crum asked him what he thought. He just laughed and said he is very good.

In other words, go see it.

I didn't get to see Woodstock in the theaters. I'm not that old. The other's on your list I don't know as well.

Thanks! I'll check it out. I've got this one and it's damn good. Over 5 hours. Probably not technically a documentary though but some rare footage included.

They opened for Country Joe and the Fish in San Francisco.

I bet it was fun going on stage after Led Zeppelin.

There's a great scene when they first get to the United States of a live performance. I don't want to spoil it for you.

I like to have seen some footage during the BBC Sessions. That two disc set is pure raw and unfiltered Zeppelin and probably my favorite recording by them. There's a 3 disc collection that came later but I have the original I bought when it was released. It has the best version of Since I've Been Lovin You and How Many More Times including some tracks that to my knowledge can only be found on it. Fantastic listen.

The extended versions of How Many More Times are awesome!

A "must know" for beginning garage bands.
