Cal is a fine, honorable man. I would love to have him or anyone like him, as my neighbor. In fact, I do. All of my neighbors are fine people.

We're not paying for an ambassador. We're paying him to be the best HC in college basketball. He's been average for several years in a football conference.
Other than Pitinos final 6 years and caliparis first 6 UK hasn't had anyone that can be argued to be the best coach in college basketball since Rupp in the 50s.
Is that really a legitimate argument when you are going up against John Wooden? Wooden retired in '75. Who was deemed the best after '75? Knight? Sutton? Phelps? Crum? I say JoeB could have been considered the best coach in the game. Isn't JoeB still the only one who followed a national championship coach to win a title?
I couldn't handle the Little House theme music blaring at all hours of the night.

How much do you pay? Endorsements are a vast majority of his salary. If you are paying a great sum then you are living your life financially incorrect.

I've never wanted to live ON a mountain. To me the allure of the mountains is being lost in them. I'd lose that by being able to see everything. But I totally get you.

Joe B missed the tournament 3 times. I don't think anyone outside of extremely biased UK fans would make that argument.
Doesn't matter who pays his salary. He is still the highest paid basketball coach in the NCAA with the last few years of awful results for what he is paid. Like the poster said above he isn't paid to be just an ambassador while squandering the all time winningest program title and losing the SEC Regular season title and tourney title pretty regularly now.
A lot of potential positives about being Cal's neighbor. Ellen can bring you a pan of brownies on your birthday. You'll have great access to Little House trivia. And the biggie is you and Cal can go Vespa riding together.
I’d build a huge court in the backyard, so when the team came to Cal’s house, they would be tempted to come over for a shoot around. That would make me the one true insider on this forum

Man, I'm jealous. i would love to go sit on my back deck and hear nothing but tree frogs and crickets, and see nothing but wild animals instead of my ugly neighbors and traffic, sirens etc.

There is pretty much nothing like it. I grew up in the country...closest neighbor was about 1/2 mile up the road. Now live in a sub division (with a HOA) because that's what my wife wanted because she grew up in one.
When I was a kid we had an aluminum roof. When it rained I mean I cannot explain the level of sleep I got. Greatest sound ever.
Definitely miss the country. Get a little taste of it when we visit wife's grandparents farm in Jackson County.
I like it. Filling in the pool and installing a full court in its' place probably wouldn't sit well with the little lady, but hey?
