Beau Allen transferring

I wish Beau the best, but the fact the fact he’s headed to Tarlington State (which I doubt anyone knew they had a football team) says a lot. He never would have been a SEC caliber starter.

Assessing QBs is definitely more of an art than a science. Predictability is average, at best.
Ponder this: Aaron Rodgers (Packers) and Josh Allen (Bills) both began their collegiate careers at junior colleges ... yes, you read that right.

Rodgers: Butte College in Oroville, CA
Allen: Reedley College in Reedley, CA
Matt Jones..

Beau obviously didn't want to compete with anyone. This choice proves it.
That's not fair. It is the beginning of August, the places that have relatively open QB jobs are virtually nil. Kid wants to play, not go to another D-1 school and still be a backup.

Hope he tears it up out there

Did I read Beau has 4 years of eligibility? That sounds crazy.

If so, he's in a pretty good situation to restart his career and hopefully progress back to a decent program. Hell, he could transfer right back to UK 2-3 years from now if it turns out he's the real deal.

Wow....never heard of this school.

I just don't get it....why not stick at UK, get an education, fight for a spot since yo're likely never going to make $$$ playing football. Moving down to a Wake Forest, Duke, even WKY I can get a bit. But Tarleston St in middle of nowwhere Texas....What?

My guess is this is a place he was basically guaranteed a starting spot. He’s probably hoping he is good enough to then enter the transfer portal in January and hope a FBS team picks him up (which should happen).

I think that’s a better plan that sitting at 3rd strong at UK.

Noticed the Tarleton passing game coordinator spent 2019 at EKU. Maybe BA met him somehow while he was in the area.

Never thought it out that way...but makes sense. So if his goal is to transfer out of Tarleston, re establish himself and back to P5 school...then that path makes sense.

1. It is what it is....but in spring game it was evident that Beau was way behind Levis but not a ton seperation from Hogan....and to be at UK as a 4* already he should have been ahead of Hogan.

2. Also, goes to show we shouldn't be all about the star rating in recruits. Everyone on here would have thought Morgan Newton, Mossokaski, Towles and not Beau Allen would be studs. And with exception of Towles....all were not even close to SEC caliber QBs.

I thought Hogan looked way better than Beau. At the time I was told on this board it was because Beau was going against the 1s but that wasn't exactly accurate.

Either way, jmo but I suspect this is a one year stop due to his late portal entry. Then he'll transfer up next year.

Which P5 school do you think he can play?
