Mentioned in another thread, I don’t think it is hard to get a 4th star as a QB. Be 6’1+ and have a decent arm and camp for 2 summers. 1 outta 10 pan out because the rest peak in 12th grade and don’t develop mentally to be big time.Another UK whiff at the QB position...4 star and all.
Crazy thing about a guy like Allen is he had offers from Michigan and Georgia too. UK isn’t the only school that thought highly of him.Another UK whiff at the QB position...4 star and all.
Yet another example of the objective inaccuracies of star ratings. Allen was signed by UK because Stoops was at that time pushing to control instate recruiting. Allen was a UK legacy and a Lexington product. If he had gone anywhere else, many UK fans would have screamed bloody murder at the time. We know Allen is good enough to excel at Tarleton but couldn't get on the field at UK. IDK, maybe he wants to come home now. Who knows? But would he be happy at the #3 behind a true freshman? If Vandagriff were to get hurt, I would guess Coen would probably get Boley in there and give him some OJT.Another UK whiff at the QB position...4 star and all.
I could be wrong, and probably am. It seems to me a 4-5 star from a smaller stae like Kentucky would probably be a 2 star in Florida, Texas, etc.Mentioned in another thread, I don’t think it is hard to get a 4th star as a QB. My guess is that he wanted to get back to the FBS level.Anyone know why he left Tarleton St? He did relatively decent there.
If he's got any eligibility left will be interesting to see if he goes somewhere he can get some run or does he just return home and provide some depth, maybe get some OOC, and Vandy run?
I don’t think it is a Kentucky specific thing though. All decent QBs go to these rival/247 camps and that’s where they get their ratings for the most part. There’s 4 star QBs all over the country that we never hear from again after they commitI could be wrong, and probably am. I think other than the elite of the elite, it's largely a crapshoot. Lots of 4 stars all over the country don't pan out, we just only have a few per year out of KY, so the ones who don't plan out are magnified.I could be wrong, and probably am.
