Beat Florida and UK Should Hang a Banner, says Joe B.

It is quite the accomplishment but it means nothing without #9. If we go 40-0 then yes, hang a separate banner for an undefeated season.

No banner just yet, maybe after we win the SECT. It would be a beat down to have just celebrated winning out in the regular season, and then losing a game in the SECT. But a banner would be appropriate if we win the SECT also - but not until after the season. JMO

I am actually leery of the game today, just listening to all of the media and fans assuming another victory over the Florida gators. I hope the players haven't adopted that attitude.

The '54 team is honored in the rafters. Since they didn't go to the tournament without Hagan, Ramsey and Tsioropolous, Rupp retired their jerseys of guys who wouldn't have gotten that honor otherwise. That is why Jerry Bird, Gayle Rose, Billy Evans and Phil Grawemeyer are in the rafters.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am 90% sure I read that years ago.

I vote for a larger, more unique banner if we go 40-0.

"Hang it in Memorial Coliseum maybe, not Rupp".

"We go 40-0, I'm in the camp for a special banner to be hung in Rupp that sets it apart from the others".

I agree with CatPhight...

Im torn on this. It's an incredible accomplishment. At the same time, we don't hang banners for such accomplishments very often, if at all, even for ones as historic as an undefeated regular season would be. For example, we didn't hang a banner for being the first to 2000 wins, did we? That's a pretty amazing accomplishment as well. I think I'm in the memorial coliseum banner boat as well. Also the joe craft center is sort of a UK basketball museum in itself; the walls are covered in pictures/text old old players/teams. An undefeated regular season team would be worthy of that.

I agree with Joe B; Kentucky should do something special to remember this team should it finish undefeated.
No matter what happens next, an undefeated regular season is something else & it hasn't been done by any power-5 conference team in over 40 years.

Was Hall on Adolph Rupp's & Kentucky's first national title team?
If so, that's pretty neat that you fans still have a link to that era.
I remember Joe B coaching the wildcats during the 1980s ('84 Final4) when I was a student at UF and later when when he would broadcast some sec games. Hall is a gentleman.
Joe B is just a good ole Kentucky boy. I'm guessing you get that.

He was sort of on the '48 team. It was a time when freshmen were still ineligible. Let's hope that doesn't happen again.
