BBM thread

Murray is that dude who walks into a pickup game and you're like "okay, he doesn't look too special, I can take him" and he lights you up all over the court. Not an elite athlete but scoring the ball is in his freakin DNA. He's just a damn basketball player, head to toe.

Skal just swished a 3. This kid can freakin shoot. His shot is further along than AD's was right now. Dear god I hope he plays this year, would be a real disservice to college basketball in general to hold him out. I'm starting to see "star" written all over him:

Lee looks way way way more comfortable with the ball. That could pay huge dividends.

I wanna see Humphries become a better Josh Harrelson. Play hard and stroke a clean jumper.

Ulis is pure. Nuff said.

Poy looked stiff. Hopefully it's just mental. He didn't appear to favor a leg so that's good. I want him to have a great senior season so badly.

I just cannot wait to see this team in real action!!!!!

Imagine if there was technology available where you could show the action of the game while listening to a broadcaster or person being interviewed. Maybe one day we'll have something like that.

Be thankful they were atleast talking UK during that stretch. A lot better than covering the new coaches around the league segment or the Ben Simmons show. It feels like we were the only SEC team not talked about during this crap.

I know a lot can and will change, but I wouldn't mind seeing Lee at the 5 and Skal at the 4 until Alex is fully ready. Skal can extend the defense, and physically, he and Lee aren't that far off.

True, but the ceiling with this team is looking incredible.

Yes, it certainly is. Going to be hard to find a better trio than Ulis/Murray/Skal this year. The 2nd tier guys are also very good. Alex will likely be back to himself by conference play. We're going to need him in March. UNC would physically dominate us without a guy like Poythress negating their physical advantages down low.

So some of these recruits are on back to back weeks with each other. Wonder if they are bonding?

true...but the next 3-5-7 players are no where close.
Well, two of the next seven are the same (not counting Ulis), and Lee looks very much improved, if Alex still has some work to do.

After that, Humphries has more upside than Dakari as an offensive player, and Briscoe may be a push with Andrew...That would leave Mulder to replace Aaron, which might be fairly close...So you are up to eight out of ten without a huge drop off, and that's not counting what might be a big contribution from Matthews.

The guys for whom there is no clear replacement are Lyles, a 4 who can score out on the floor, and WCS, who is an incredible athletic freak, but who also could vanish at times.

Murray has moves. I think that's what separates him. He's not the most athletic or explosive, which is why it took so long for scouts to recognize his talent, but he has the ability to get where he wants to go on the court- the type of thing that guys like Steph Curry and Steve Nash have, where, though they're not even all that quick from a raw athletic standpoint, they seem one step ahead of everyone else on the floor.
his first step is really quick. in that regard he's quick. every game i've seen with him thus far he's finding openings constantly. he also changes speeds well. i hate to compare him to curry, but the style is just similar.

I am more excited about this team than I was last years team at this time. Ulis, Skal, and Murray are a better threesome than anything we had last year.

I think you're seriously selling last years team short. You'd really expect this year's team to beat last year's team, even this early on?

Anyone have a link to the intro on YouTube yet? Can't seem to find it anywhere. Only on Twitter which won't allow me to save the video :/.

The best part was music playing, the PA announcer screaming, then the commentators trying to talk over all of it.

As usual, when it comes to the production part, ESPN thinks everyone tunes in to hear their brain dead commentators talk.

Andrew Slater, Garrett Tucker, and Chad Lykins all switched their predictions for Monk to Kentucky tonight between 6-8 pm. Now @ 50/50

Lets not forget they already practiced today. My guess is Poythress gets sore and tired quicker. Probably told to shut it down so he can be ready tomorrow.
He is different and tentative. I was there and it was obvious.

Makes sense, I had a medial femoral condyle allograft done back in February and I still don't trust it 100%, can't run yet ... but that is completely different than a muscle tear, hope Alex turns into the Alex from the Duke game a couple years back.

You did WHAT to a female condor and how is that relevant to Alex Pothress?

Monk's brother made a statement, now a couple of months ago, that made it sound like Arkansas fans should be worried. I realize with him he could be going back and forth till the end but the fact his brother seemingly wasn't/isn't tied to the Hogs is a good thing.

Im not more excited, because I knew the last team had a legit chance to be perfect. But I agree with you, that last year lacked elite talent, although it had tons of really good players. KAT was really the only elite player on that team.

In fact, one could certainly argue Wisconsin could put a better starting unit on the floor last year.

On this team Skal, Murray, and Ulis are all elite. We wont have as many really good players. But we can only play 5 at a time anyway. Injuries are the exception - an injury to a key player this year is devastating.

uh how about Ulis, Booker, Towns?

Ulis wasnt elite last year. Booker couldnt hit anything the beginning of the year. Then didnt miss for a month. Then couldnt buy one for another month or so. Definitely not elite.

That's the bad thing about Big Blue Madness. It is just a glorified pick up game. I mentioned in another thread that they should just make it longer and combine the blue/white game with it and charge blue/white game prices. It would sellout and they could recoup some of the costs of it.

I'm waiting the one guy with his sarcasm meter broke to jump Orville telling him that Cal would never lose his job due to poor play during the scrimage since it happens in every thread lol!
Couldn't agree with you more Zatovan, there's nothing more annoying regardless of if they're just playing around. Who thinks that the audience would rather look at people talking, rather than watching our new players together for the first time!

While it Prolly was meant to be somewhat humerous, and I couldn't help but laugh, but what were they going for with that. I'm guessing that it wasn't his idea though, and love that he's a huge part of BBN, although as far as recruiting, how can we compare with non payed ( according to UL fan's ) underage girls in swimsuits!
