Louisville baseball has really benefited from being in the Big East. The ACC is a tremendous baseball conference. The Cards days of baseball success are about to become a thing of the past.

Their days of glory in just about every sport are coming to an end and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.

The Dirty Lady Birds lost at home last night in the Elite 8 as well.

So much for that 4th matchup with UCONN all the Tard fans were hoping for.

College Baseball does things differently with their scheduling. I'm thrilled we won...but often they use weeknight games to play their bench and save their starting pitching staff until the weekends.

This being a rivalry game you'd think however that both teams took it seriously.

They do against some mid week opponents, but that is not the case against teams like Louisville, or Indiana. Big rivalry games really in any sport !

Well, the pitching is mid-week of course, but the starters remain the same in the mid-week and the weekend, with few exceptions. In some of the lesser mid-week games the bullpen is used more liberally, but against top teams the better bullpen pitchers are used. For instance, last night we used Spencer Jack to ensure that we shut them down.
