Hearing Jaland Lowe, Mo Dioubate and Denzel Aberdeen have been early standouts for Kentucky this summer -- as good as expected and worth the investment to bring all of them in this portal cycle.

A surprise: Braydon Hawthorne has been turning heads. Thin and raw, but natural gifts that continue to shine through, and just ridiculously long. A work in progress, but not a total project.

Jayden Quaintance continues to make progress after ACL surgery in March, now jogging and moving well. Still going to be extremely cautious returning to action, but everyone likes where things stand with him being ready for the early part of the season.

Publicly, Mo Dioubate said Jasper Johnson was very good before he left for Colorado Springs/Switzerland. Johnson singled out Lowe while Malachi Moreno had good things to say about Dioubate. Denzel Aberdeen said, "Everybody is as good as I thought they were coming in."

Don't think Aberdeen is being hyperbolic -- pretty clear sense of optimism inside that building about this team and the pieces they have. Just one week down and seven more to go this summer, but early returns are very positive.
