Frankly, I can only arrive at one conclusion. I think that Barnhart rather give out imbecilic contracts & money than have to endure going through the firing/ hiring process again. Nor did he have the balls to address the whole Sharpe fiasco which he should have done publicly. In other words, he is lazy as Cal is and he will do anything to not actually do his job. Fact of the matter is, Calipari will do what Barnhart let's him get away with. No one is there to hold his feet to the fire. So, who is going to hold Barnhart accountable?
Everyone is frustrated because we know if he was even a decent game coach we would have 3 NC’s minimum. Duke, UConn, and Villinova have won multiple ones since Cal has lbeen here. Since 2015 Cal’s tenure has been a waste when another coach could’ve done more with less.

Regular season of 2018, 2019, 2020 had some awful losses that are looked over because the relative success in the post-seasons. We got yo the Elite Eight, but also losing to Auburn (who we crushed earlier that season) and K-State (when our side of the bracket was wide open) were bummer losses. So yeah I wouldn’t agree that those seasons are awful, but I can’t agree that they great either.
Yes you would expect him to endorse the worst move ever including hiring B G or Joker Phillips. If I were UK President be would be fired by midnight and his office cleaned out by 6am.

Rifle team, volleyball, softball are really competitive. Football is making strides. You can’t have men’s and women’s basketball suck along with baseball. Baseball is right behind football in the SEC. Basketball is a distant third except at a few schools.
I honestly could care less about rifle, volleyball, and softball. They’re money pits compared to basketball and football

Oh I completely agree. But Barnhart loves him some Olympic sports. That’s the problem.
If that's true, then something must really be wrong. Players used to basically fall over each other just hoping to play for UK. Now they run, even if there is good $$$. I agree that Barnhart is the problem or even higher up, because I really believe that there is good $$$ out there for UK, if the program was handled properly. Right now, given the state of the program, if I were a major donor of NIL cash, I wouldn't spend it on this major mess.
